W.A. Frost has the best patio in the Twin Cities. You have to arrive early (between 4 & 4:30 pm), to get the best seats. Great service and great food!

Before you quit reading and don't go to WA Frost, let me state that the dinner was made tolerable by the manager giving us our meal at no cost. We waited 20 minutes to be seated in the patio despite there being only 3 reservations listed and 3-4 tables that were set up for 4 but remained empty the whole time we were there. No explanation was given about the wait although we asked 2-3 times how long it would be. We ordered pretty quickly afterward but waited and waited for our food, with no contact by the waiter until he asked if we wanted a second drink "while we wait". We asked when the food would come, he said he would check and that the kitchen was a little slow. Later we asked again why it had been almost an hour and he said in an unfriendly manner, "its been 47 minutes" and left. We then talked to the maitre d' and mentioned this and he said he would check - then the manager came and told us the meal was taken care of - finally about 5 minutes later it arrived - and was barely warm which was a little surprising.... SO, food was good, possibly a 4 star although maybe a little less but with the experience of the terrible service I can't give the restaurant that. We explained that we did not have a problem with waiting so much as with the snippy attitude and the fact that no one came and told us about it BEFORE we complained....

Perfect special occasion restaurant. We asked for help with the wine list and the Sommelier found us an excellent wine within our budget, VERY helpful when you don't know a lot about wine! Romantic.

This is a great place for a nice dinner or a glass of wine before heading someplace else. The interior is spectacular with plenty of different spaces for whichever mood you may be in.

One of the nicest dining experiences I've had in a long time.

Four of us had dinner outdoors. The ambience was teriffic anf I noticed that they book only one party per outside table per night. We lingered over drinks and dinner, staying a good two hours and yet there were parties there that came earlier and stayed later.

Food was very good, although not very imaginitive. The brocolli gratin was really a potato gratin with a trace of brocolli. However, that's a picky concern. The patio is large and festive, with lights strung all over. Even though the patio is large, the noise level was just fine for conversation in our small group. Our party had the chicken wings and the appetizer sampler to start and all were very good and ample. Another nice feature of the restaurant was the availability of smaller sizes main course dishes. And, in addition to "upper end" entrees, the dinner menu also had sandwhiches and burgers.

The restaurant is housed inanbeautifully restored building that's got anhistoric buildings designatio. In the winter I think dining would be very very comfortable. Definately recommend this place.

I would definately come again
