Buckwheat pancakes at 3 am. Historic grime. Great food. Can't beat it. A must do anytime of day or night. No more words needed. I repeat no more words needed.

“A must see”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 8, 2013

Tiny old club car from a train...not your pretty restaurant but one experience everyone should have at least once in their lifetime. The cook is missing teeth and yells alot --makes the best eggs and soups! A real blue plate kind of place and really a place to see and be seen...You will see Government officials, students, families, business folk and some colorful street types. Makes me smile just typing this. Lower end pricing!

“Authentic Railroad Car Style”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 7, 2013

If you want a classic diner experience, you won't be disappointed. This feels like a railroad car. Menu has a variety of breakfast fare, cooked to meet your preferences, and definitely to fill you up. Not high class cuisine, but great basic food at a reasonable price. Variety of customers too: business people, city workers, students.

“Classic Family-Run Diner”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 8, 2013

Mickey's by Willie is one of those places where you get a classic diner experience with good, honest food from a well-seasoned griddle - all at reasonable prices. It's family-run (rare these days) and it shows through the hearty and delicious food. It's small and a little rough-around-the-edges but that adds to its character and makes the experience all that more real and enjoyable.

Breakfast is the star here. A favorite is their signature Earth's Best which matches it's name (it is the best): 2 eggs to order (always perfect), choice of breakfast meat, toast with amazing hash browns (was told by the owner they shred their own potatoes - you can tell, they're always perfect). This is a steal of a deal. Order the O'Brian's if you want to take it up a notch.

Do not confuse this location with the downtown Mickey's. This location is definitely more neighborhood and makes for a better experience (imho). The folks are friendlier and there's lots more parking.

Give Mickey's by Willie a try - it's not far from the airport if you're visiting. And certainly not far from home if you're not.
