Everything we ate was delicious. The spring rolls, the rice, the salad - everything! The place is clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. The restaurant is easy to get to from the Green Line. The food is so reasonably priced you can't go wrong!

The Restaurant is located on the Green Line in St. Paul. That makes it even easier to get there. they do have off street parking and usually there is a spot there. Food can be ordered to any spice level. Sure to please if you like Asian food. Not much to look at but plenty good.

My husband and I went to try out this place the other day. The spring roll with the sauce was not as good as it was hyped up to be. The kapoon itself was runny with giant chunks of chicken and potatoe. To be honest this place wasn't horrible but it also wasn't the best either.

Sadly the main thing that bugged me was our waitress; she brought us the spring rolls (which took forever) and her mouth was stuffed with food. She brought me my kapoon and my husbands curry stir fry and we both were digusted because she was AGAIN eating something else!

I ate at Cheng Heng alone during a business trip to St. Paul after reading the positive reviews on TA. The restaurant is located in a sort of iffy area between St. Paul and Minneapolis but with the installation of a new light rail system and lots of new building, the entire area is really coming around. As you approach the restaurant (on the one-way side of University Ave.), parking is immediately before the restaurant in the rear. The restaurant is plain, with a dozen or so red tables, but clean and open. What recommends this place is the extensive menu, especially of unique Cambodian dishes. Unfortunately, I ordered the Cambodian egg rolls (fried), which were excellent but not any different from Thai or Vietnamese egg rolls--sort of a blend of the two. I also had a dish that's highly rated by local magazines but was essentially a good stir fry with green peppers, beef, onion, and other vegetables in a nice peanut-based sauce. I disappointed myself by not ordering more unique dishes, such as the chive dumplings and maybe one of the Cambodian style pho. The place is frequented by Asians, a good sign, and a number of (non-Asian) diners came in and greeted the owner personally, so it appears to have a following. Service was fast and friendly. Note that there is no liquor license so you can't get a beer or glass of wine (a shame considering the good food--it would be nice to have an Asian beer or a glass of chardonnay). Yet there is absolutely no information about this fact anywhere online--anywhere. So take note and don't expect alcohol. Finally: an amazing value. There's no way you could cook dishes like this, with all their spices and flavors, at home for even twice the cost. And even if you bought the ingredients, it would pale in comparison (unless you're Cambodian).

Make sure you don't miss this Asian gem. Specializing in Cambodian cuisine, all the items we ordered were excellent. It is also extremely cheap, and staff are very friendly. Will be coming again and again.
