We have recently been to Glockenspiel on a couple occasions. We have come with family gatherings including grandparents, and young kids. Each time we have had excellent service, and have consistently been entertained with the festive and European ambience.

The food has been fine. We have had a few great meals, particularly if you are looking for German/Slovakian style foods. The baked spaetzle with cheese (much like baked macaroni and chesse) has been a favorite, as well as the variety of sausages.

We recently took our oldest to Glockenspiel to celebrate his 12th birthday. We had been there in the past and knew it was a fun atmosphere, so we thought he'd get a kick out of it. We had reservations and were seated right away. It wasn't as busy as the first time we were there and the hostess mentioned that they had just cut a server so she quickly had to check where to seat us.
The food was very good, as it was last time. The spaetzle and gravy is excellent. They have a great selection of beer, and a good selection of entrees. Portions were good sized and served hot. Side of veggies were very obviously frozen and not the best, but we weren't there for the veggies so not a huge deal. We've never been unhappy with our meals. This time we each got a different dessert and they were all fabulous. The decor is interesting and fantastic. The best thing about this place--- the entertainment. The two gentlemen who wandered around singing and playing the accordion and baritone, were friendly, hilarious, and extremely talented. One of the guys even yodeled like a professional. They had a way of getting people to join in on their songs and chants, and people seemed to really like these guys. They went out of their way to make an enormous deal our of my son's birthday, which completely made his (and our) day. They sang to him, had him sing with them, and even had him stand and lead the restaurant in a round of Ein Prosit (Zicke, zacke, zicke, zacke, hoi, hoi, hoi!). It sure was a night to remember.
Our only complaint is the slow service. Both times we've been there the service was quite slow. The food comes to the table in a reasonable amount of time from when we order, but the initial greeting from the server, her return to take the order, her follow-up once the meal was delivered to see how it was, and the plate clearing/dessert/bill at the end were all SLOW. The servers were very nice and it's possible that they just had too many tables, but then maybe they shouldn't have dropped one right as we were getting there. I know there was no rush of customers at the same time that we got there.
All in all though, the good totally outweighs the bad and I'm sure we will be back.
