My wife and I have ordered delivery from Keys more than once and their breakfast food is amazing! It is a bit pricy but well worth it as the portions are huge!

We went here for breakfast on a recommendation from friends. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. The breakfast choices ranged from heavy (eggs, bacon, hashbrowns etc) to lighter (cereal, fruit etc). The food portions were huge and it was bought to us quickly. The cinnamon and caramel rolls are legendary, get some to go if you don't have room after breakfast.

Keys Cafe is fantastic. They serve comfort food and I have never been disappointed. We recently went to Keys for breakfast and ordered the Loon omelet. This omelet has wild rice, turkey, peppers, and swiss cheese. They also serve a mushroom sauce over the top. It was amazing. I have never had such a good omelet. We also asked to split the omelet, and they made two small ones for us and brought them out on seperate plates. That extra bit of customer service was great! In the past I have ordered their tomato bisque with a grilled cheese -- and that soup is to die for. The only frustrating thing about Keys is that they are ALWAYS busy. It can be tough to get a table (seat yourself), and then sometimes you have to wait a bit more to get a waitress. That being said, its worth every minute that you have to wait. I would highly recommend Keys!

If you are dieting you are at the wrong spot - move on! However, if you want a large, hardy Midwestern style breakfast this is the best spot in downtown for it - sit down and enjoy! They are also open for supper and lunch where portions remain large but this site is know as a breakfast spot. They have a large standard menu and each day offer specials. Most of the time these specials are a variation of their standard menu items. Eggs, hash browns, meats and coffee are core items. The also offer pancakes and some impressive size desserts. Breakfast, burgers and soups are always a safe choice here. I have had some disappointments with grilled sandwiches and have found presentation to be weak on several items. However, the lack of presentation did not stop me from enjoying the food as I gobbled it down.

This is also one of the watering -holes of the political establishment so you can spot lobbyists, labor leaders and elected officials at nearby tables. By the way, this site was featured in 2008 when the Republican Convention came to town on one of the cable TV news programs each morning.

Service is fair to good, noise at weekend breakfast time is very loud and seating is tight. Evening seating is never an issue. The prices and portions are very good. Parking may be an issue but most folks make it work. If you are in downtown St Paul and want a hardy breakfast do not miss this place.
