“Tasty and Filling Lasagna”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2014

We arrived at Cossetta's during the rush prior to a hockey game at the nearby Xcel Center. The restaurant serves cafeteria-style, so the line snaked through the small grocery store and bakery attached to the seating area. However, the food was well worth the wait. My slice of spinach lasagna was thick, oozing with a hearty sauce and covered with a chewy layer of cheese on top. The salad was fresh, crunchy, and lightly dressed. I reluctantly tried Cossetta's because my past dinner trips there consisted of pizza and soda, and the pizza was not that great. I recommend skipping the express pizza lane, and spending the extra time to wait for the home-cooked pasta.

“Have always loved it, but disappointed by too much salt”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 18, 2014

Almost iconic st paul restaurant, very near the main hockey/entertainment venue - long a favorite for cafeteria style service of great, fast, honest Italian dishes and pizza. We have often picked up meatballs for takeout and boyscouts weekends. We recently tried the new more formal sit-down upper floor restaurant venue on Valentines weekend. The service was outstanding; the new venue is nice - traditional Italian style. Appetizers and sides were generous. Portions overly huge. Main entrees - chicken marsalla and others - all way too salty. 5 out of 6 entrees around the table were too salty. We'll try it again, but hope it was an aberration on a busy night.

“not great at all”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 1, 2014

First off, no parking. Finally settled on event parking for $10. Next, Louis Restaurant-very pricey and no signage as to how to get there (3rd floor). so instead ate in the Italian Market, which was a packed cafeteria line, with no one directing who goes where for just pizza or for an entree, etc. Also, a big no-no: $7.50 to $8 for a small glass of non-descript wine??? come on. food was ok. How about a small dinner salad to go with the meal?? Would have bought that, but not a huge caesar salad? and the silverware is plastic? Have to schlep your own tray up to second floor. then WE have to get our water. the food and patisserie shops were neat, but paying $45 for a cafeteria/MacDonald's style meal means we will probably not return.

“Staple of St. Paul”

Recommend everything except the pizza. There are far better pizzas throughout the Twin Cities. Parking can be a challenge, but just read the signs and follow the directions. Great little store with everything to stock your kitchen at home.

“Little Italy in St. Paul, MN”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 25, 2014

My wife and I met for our first date at Cossetta's about six years ago so we decided to visit recently and check out their new renovations. Compared with the old Cossetta’s, the new Cossetta’s is a beautiful place with a good mix of contemporary and traditional Italian feel. I ordered a small chocolate cannoli, Marsala Chicken (Chicken breast sautéed in a hearty mushroom marsala sauce) and a caesar salad. My wife had the Cossetta salad (Crisp romaine greens tossed with our Cossetta dressing, crispy prosciutto and crumbled gorgonzola cheese and our house croutons) and lasagna Florentine (spinach lasagna). Everything was fresh, made to order and very delicious. The portions were enough to take home for another meal. We went on Monday (President's Day) and it was a packed house. We parked in their parking lot with was very convenient. If you are in St. Paul, definitely stop by Cossetta's. You will not be disappointed.
