Classic Diner menu, at reasonable prices. Fast service with simple well-prepared food. Feels like 1960.

Around 12 stools at the counter and 4 little booths in this old street car. Great all day breakfast and all the atmosphere you can handle. Keep your jacket on in winter (-;

Sit at the counter and banter with the cook. You'll need something to do while you wait. This one guy is cooking for everyone in the place on a tiny grill, but he's fast and furious and a bit ascerbic. Join in the fun and give him a hard time - he'll respond in kind. The food is pretty tasty, the hash browns are real - not the frozen patties that even some of the best restaurants in St. Paul serve - but you'll have to wait your turn. It's not too long, but everyone in the place is having their meal cooked on this one grill by this one cook. Everything is cooked to order and you can see exactly how it is prepared so no surprises here. You get what you order and everything appears fresh. You won't do much better than this for breakfast in St. Paul

Everything you'd expect from a 24 hour diner in a rail car and nothing more. Tragic that it's in the shadow of such an ugly building, but when you're in there, time disappears. The service is sketchy, but you didn't come for the service, did you? Vegetables are hard to come by, but you didn't come for those either. Upgrade to the potatoes O'Brien, because you deserve it.

This is a neat stop to bring tourists, and kind of a nice relic of bygone days. The food is diner food. Although, the quality is better now than it was in days gone by.
