Very romantic and cozy place to drink and dine at. The food portions were very small and not up to par with the price that was being asked. Services was good. If I went again, I would go for happy hour in the bar. They had the fireplace going, drinks were cheap and bartender was great.

Take a long walk around this fantastic old mansion, but then skip the restaurant and just stop at the bar for a drink. Terrific, professional service. Generally overpriced and fairly awful food. There are exceptions. The Beef Wellington was a winner. On the other hand, the walleye composed plate was a weird mixture of tastes that didn't come together. The same was true of the duck. And, oddly, everything had thinly sliced very hot red peppers adorning it...as if the heat would cover the weirdness. To top it all off, the ice cream must have been sitting in the freezer for months. It had the strange texture of thawed-and-refrozen carelessness and its taste was pure cardboard and freezer fumes. At $200 for three people, I expect better.

Excellent dinner in this lovely mansion. First time back after many, many years. I forget about this place as it tends to cater to group events. We went before a concert. I think they are missing the mark to not promote their restaurant more to just the everyday diner (and not just weddings, corporate events, etc.) Such opportunity and really nice food. We brought our own wine, but they do have a substantial wine list as well.

French restaurant in haunted old mansion. Had foie gras as app - served in a spice jar with a small spoon, nice preparation of foie gras with a unique presentation. For entree had "Donald duck" which is funny and contributed to why I made reservations to begin with, good dish but order WITHOUT the cilantro - dish is served with inexplicable cigars of cooked cilantro - which is not a plus. All in all nice cuisine and good atmosphere and comes as recommendation

Yes, it is a bit spendy, but I don't mind the extra cost when the value is there. We had a holiday meal here in December. The place was decorated and very festive. We enjoyed a cocktail, and then moved into wine. The appetizers were wonderful. Their version of "toad in hole" is really something. Donald Duck and Walleye are not to be missed. Everything was presented wonderfully, and the service was top notch. I have been going here for years, and the change in ownership, Management and chef has been nothing but good.
