“Great Free Animals!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2014

I really like that it is free to visit, I always try to make a donation to help keep the company going! The conservatory is always worth a look, particularly in winter - it's a very warm green filled place!

“Fun and Free”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2014

This is a small zoo with an indoor conservatory next door. It is quick and easy to drop in and out, compared to the Minnesota Zoo. On the other hand, it is much smaller.

“Beauty at an affordable price!”

I love the conservatory- it smells great, is beautiful and has many rooms to look through. You can go free if your family is strapped, donate if you can!

“Perfect for Families with Small Children Looking for a Day Out”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2014

The Como Zoo, Conservatory and Park are a nice place to spend the day with the family without being overwhelmed by one thing that is too large. The Como Zoo is a small zoo that is slowly being updated and expanded with many new exhibits. There is a remarkable amount of animals for its size. What is nice is that it is officially free but a donation is a great way to keep this little treasure open and help them upgrade. The attached conservatory is beautiful and has only a small fee. It is a nice retreat in the winter. During the summer, don't forget to go outside the conservatory and walk through the Japanese Garden. The area is surrounded by a large park with a lake, walking paths, picnic areas, softball fields, and great kite flying fields. Many of the animals are inside during the winter in smaller cages so I suggest a summer visit. There is also a new amusement park that is designed for small children, not big kids. Plan on a picnic lunch under the big old trees to save money at the concessions, then splurge for ice cream.

“When to visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2014 via mobile

Best time to visit is immediately after the zoo opens. Go directly to the primate building and enjoy viewing the animals explore their exhibits and enrichment activities.

Avoid early afternoon when the animals tend to rest and crowds are largest.
