Simply the best fair in the country, bar none! Runner up is far behind as far as entertainment factor or size!

If you have never been before, and are into this kind of thing, you will not be disappointed. One beef is there is very little air-conditioning to be found anywhere so in the event of a heat wave, it can be hurling, but if those weather conditions are not on the forecast, you are golden. Hopefully the fair makes the investment in air conditioning at some point in the future, they have the traffic to warrant it it seems.

Concert entertainment is also very high caliber as far as the bands are concerned.

Make the trip, you will leave wanting to come back for more. It truly is the "Great Get Together" as locals refer to it.

he Minnesota State Fair is definitely one of the best we have been to.
I am partial/biased to the Indiana State Fair being a native Hoosier but I equally enjoy heading to St Paul and spending 2 days at the Minnesota State Fair.
A lot of great and educational exhibits, all the normal deep fried foods, great choice of rides, friendly people, lots of animals.
etting into and out of the fair is a breeze as is parking.

The Minnesota State fair is unusual in being located within the confines of a major metro area. I think the best way to experience the fair is to go in conjunction with a concert. It is one of the few concert venues where you can sit an listen to music for a while - get up and get some food from the fairgrounds and then go back. The fair has everything you would want in a summer event with farm animal contests, 4H kids showing their projects, amateur and professional art exhibits, crafts, free music and lots and lots of food on a stick - or a plate. On a sunny day in late August it is hard to find a better way to spend a day.

I look forward to the state fair every year. There are so many things to see and do. You can go to a concert, eat all different kinds of food on a stick, see a rodeo, check out the horticulture building to the international bazaar. Sooo many things to see and do, and don't forget the rides. You will have a fun filled day.
