This is your classic, really big, State Fair. There are the cows and horses to see, sheep, goats, rabbits, ducks, pigeons, turkeys, a milking barn, a petting barn, a birthing barn. The food is the big thing here, mostly fried and mostly on a stick. Hot dog, pork chop, waffle, slab bacon with maple syrup, meat ball, Ruben, pickle all on a stick. There are healthy foods, huge sweet strawberries, honey lemonade, fresh fruit juices and smoothies, corn on the cob, lean roast beef sandwiches, falafel, and an array of seasonal apples. The craft building shows a huge array of wood carving, quilt making, wool spinning, canning, baking, glass making. Too much to list everything. But, if you can visit Minnesota in the weeks just before Labor Day, you must visit the State Fair!
