Description: Cheeky Monkey is a cozy deli and bistro, located in downtown St. Paul's Cathedral Hill neighborhood. We're open for lunch and dinner 7 days a week and brunch on both Saturday and Sunday. Cheeky Monkey is all about comfort food: brioche French toast and eggs benedict for brunch and gourmet sandwiches, soups and salads during lunch. At night, Cheeky Monkey transforms into a quaint bistro with offerings such as meatloaf, mac and cheese, steak, salmon, pork and chicken prepared fresh by our chef, often with locally sourced ingredients. We also feature a great beer and wine list. Ask about our great Gluten Free options as well.

Bigger than it looks, reminds me of Birchwood in Minneapolis in that it has a very big deli-style menu. Soups, hot and cold sandwiches, salads. Different from Birchwood in that they have strong beer on tap, that was a surprise, include 10% ABV Hebrew beer (a place like this you expect a 3.2 license only); the tables/ambience is nicer than Birchwood and of course the girls in St. Paul are way cuter. Lovely neighborhood, you'll want to eat at a different place every day--and you could, there are that many places to choose from.

I came here for brunch with a friend last Sunday and was pleasantly surprised with the breakfast options available. The omelette was very good with an excellent fresh fruit side. My companion had eggs Benedict, which also looked fantastic. We didn't have the daily gash special, but it sounded fantastic! Great service and good neighborhood atmosphere topped off this enjoyable brunch.

I have eaten here many times and never been disappointed. The menu focuses on fresh food well prepared, and always produces. The hanger steak is excellent, perfectly cooked, also try shepherds pie if available, and Cuban sandwich, but you really can't go wrong. Desserts are also great - three berry crumble is my favorite.

Our staff had lunch here on a recent beautiful early summer weekday. It was packed by 11:30 - for whatever reason there were about 30 women and one or two guys in line when we arrived. Later more groups of men and women arrived.

Food is good, portions somewhat smaller than at many places. Two people in our group had ham and brie sandwiches. I had a meatloaf sandwich that was spicier & more interesting than I've had in other places. Did I mention smaller portions?

Also had french silk pie, which was good; not great

You order the food here at a counter on week days, and then it is brought to your table.

The patio was packed by the time we left. Pretty place, nice flowers. (See pictures).
This place is very popular on weekdays and one of our staff told me, also very popular on weekends. You might want to arrive early.

I'd give it a strong B+

This little gastropub-type cafe is as cozy as can be on a cold winter night, which is when my dear one and I discovered it after taking dancing lessons. Walking in, one finds the deli at the front and the relaxed, English pub-style room with flickering fireplace in the next room. Good service, pub ambiance, and delicious sides and entres keep us coming back! One cannot find better fries in the metro than their own bistro fries made fresh. Also, potato chip lovers will clamor for more of their homemade chips served with delectable sandwiches. The grass-fed beef Cheeky Burger is unique and the most delicious version of a cheeseburger I've ever found. Nice vegetarian selections available also. Great selection of beers and wine. Now that spring has arrived, I hope to try out their patio!
