If you are curious about the scientific development of the universe, this place is calling you. The museum contains an enormous collection of scientific models, samples, documentaries depicting the development of important branches of science. Visiting this museum is particularly educational for young people.

The Science Museum is located in downtown St. Paul, across the street from the Xcel Energy Center, overlooks the Mississippi River and there are many walking distance restaurants and hotels.

This is an excellent family attraction to visit. The exhibits are well thought out, very interesting and children have hands-on opportunities. We especially enjoy the Omni theater, which has a huge concave screen, very comfortable seating and provides a fantastic audio and visual experience.

I suggest that you visit the SMM.org web site to view the exhibit and film times. Then make your reservations & ticket purchases online, to ascertain event and film times on your desired schedule.

Note: You can save up to 57% on ticket purchases if you become a member, which is good for one year. A family could save money with a membership purchase, depending on family size and member ages. See example below.

Exhibits + Museum Admission + Omni-theater film.

Adult - Member $12; Non-member $31;
Child (4-12), Senior (60+) - Member $9; Non-member $22;

We normally plan on about four to hours of time to view Exhibits + Museum Admission + Omni-theater film.

We are members here and visit 3-4 times a year. The IMAX movies are always interesting and usually linked with the main exhibit. The regular exhibits are all great as well. Little kids and big kids alike are enthralled for a few hours. My kids always love the musical staircase. There are several places to eat and the food is pretty good. Would recommend to anyone.

This is a great place to go with kids, though I recommend more over the age of 4, and let them explore all day. I always love the special exhibits that change periodically. The omnigheater is definitely an awesome experience.

I love science museums, while this isn't one of the best I've seen it's still pretty good. Some good interactive exhibits, runs the gamit of different scientific disiplines. I also thought the Museum of Quackery and Medical Frauds was a lot of fun. A good place to take the family or if you're just a science geek like me.
