“Just okay”
Reviewed June 6, 2014

One of the positives about Senor Wong's is that the food is different. The negative is that the portions were pretty small and kind of expensive. We had a Groupon for here and with the Groupon we felt it dialed back the price of what the restaurant should have cost. Also I was expecting the place to have a little bit more of an atmosphere. The decor was really blah.

“We walked out.”
Reviewed June 4, 2014

My co-workers and I went to Wongs today for lunch. There were five of us. We arrived, waited about five minutes before we were even greeted (the place was dead...), and then we were told that we had too many people to be seated, unless we wanted to wait ten minutes.

Now, waiting for a table is a completely acceptable scenario when the place is full. However, there were only five tables being occupied at that moment. 75% of the place was vacant (no exaggeration). We asked to sit at a six top in the next area over. Denied. It is against their "policy" to sit guests in adjacent sections. It's also against their policy to put two tables together. Essentially, it is their policy to not accommodate their guests, even when only 25% of their dining area is occupied.

I've been in the service industry for over 15 years. These "policies" are absolutely asinine and, to be honest, they're insulting. Not only is the management not willing to go "above and beyond" to show great customer service, they're not even willing to meet a minimum standards that an establishment should meet.

The hostess did, however, offer to let our party split up into two separate tables. Because that makes sense. We decided to leave and go to a place that could muster up an additional chair if need be.

Just awful. What a joke.

“Laid back and delicious”
Reviewed January 11, 2014 via mobile

I have been to this place 2x in my life and both were great visits. My must recent visit was for my birthday, a group of 8 of us went on a Thursday evening, it wasn't too busy but the was live music playing and it really set the mood. Our waiter was great, checked in, gave good recommendations and was friendly. The menu is unique and the tasted incredible. We ordered the beef tips for an appetizer and they melted in your mouth!

“Interesting Menu and Attentive Service”
Reviewed November 20, 2013

Senor Wong's serves an unusual mix of Mexican-American and Asian dishes, making it an interesting place for a date or night out with friends. The atmosphere is modern and fun. We ordered the bahn mi (Vitenamese-style) sandwiches, which were delicious and large. Senor Wong's is located in the heart of downtown, and the slightly higher prices reflect the prime location. The server was attentive, courteous, and prompt. I would recommend stopping by during the happy hour, which features low prices on several menu items.

“Fun Fusion”
Reviewed October 23, 2013

We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and the interesting take on Mexican-Asian fusion. Some of the dishes are either Mexican OR Asian, but others are a blend of flavors and styles. Reasonable wine list and more extensive beer offerings. Service was very welcoming, friendly and attentive.
