“Great Cocktails and Consistently Excellent Food”
Reviewed October 20, 2012 via mobile

Dan at the bar is one of the Twin Cities' great bartenders. He makes his own bitters (the black walnut bitters are outstanding), tonic and infused liquors. Ask him to improvise on your favorite cocktail and you will be pleasantly surprised. For food, meat is the theme, and it's done well (the meat on a stick is always good). But all of the foods are inventive and fresh.

“Best in the Twin Cities”
Reviewed October 5, 2012 via mobile

Let me cut to the chase--the food is great. Entrees, appetizers, deserts. In addition the service is, we'll, engaging. My wife and I walk in, we are greeted with hugs. The owners remember our family, our recent trips, our names. This most reent visit we talked about our most recent grandchild, born months ago. whith hundreds of customers, how amazing is that? What you get here is the definition of a family run, excellent place to eat, even the staff remembers who we are. The crowd is congenial, parking is available nearby and cheap, the staff makes you feel at home. The Twin Cities has a number of fine restaurants and this place is one where you will never go wrong.

“Steak and Noise”
Reviewed September 23, 2012

If you want to pair your nicely-prepared grass-fed beef or other localvore menu items with ear-shattering noise bouncing off the wood floor and tin ceiling, then this is the place for you. However, if the din, which requires the attentive waitstaff to shout out the specials and makes it virtually impossible to have a conversation with one's table mates, is not your idea of a pleasant dining experience, stay away.
