“Upscale neighborhood feel sports bar with dining room and good food”
Reviewed April 13, 2012

I have been here about 10 times since it opened several years ago. They have 25 tap beers many of which are obscure, so it is fun to try new brews. The food is consistently above average and it is a good place for people watching and meeting friends.

“The Food and Prices Were Outstanding - Our Server Wasn't”
Reviewed February 28, 2012

This restaurant was recommended to us because of it's cool atmosphere and absolutely marvelous menu. I'm happy to say that the recommendation was spot on for both the variety and quality of the food and the prices.

Unfortunately, Ryan, our server, seemed less than informed about the menu and definitely less than engaged with us, as customers. When my friend asked about a salad instead of chips, he said she could have one for a small upcharge. When she asked what the upcharge was he told her $4. That was actually the full price of a side salad - not an upcharge. What he never told her was that she could get chips OR cole slaw. When I told her she could get cole slaw instead of chips, he tried to argue with me. Really? It was clearly stated in the menu.

The restaurant was virtually empty because of the weather and yet he acted like we were putting him out by even being there. My friend's water was empty early on and she was never even offered a refill. When compared to everything else, the totally dreadful service was very disappointing.

The food, on the other hand, was absolutely fabulous. Both my friend and I ordered the Grilled Cheese and it was incredible! Something as simple as a grilled cheese, served with their signature tomato soup, turned into a taste treat with the addition of tomato, avocado, and their chef's other magic touches.

The other menu options all looked delicious and were definitely varied. Appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers, and full entrees - everything had just a little something special added to make it "out of the ordinary". From a food standpoint, I can't wait to come back and try something else.

As a recommendation, I would say to definitely give McCoys a try but, if you are seated in Ryan's section, ask to be moved. This is a great place to go for a date, or with friends or coworkers!

“Yummy yummy yummy”

The pretzel app is to die for. Walleye sandwich was excellent. Coleslaw was bland and service was a bit slow but otherwise it was awesome.

“Best Sliders in the World”
Reviewed January 5, 2012

Went to Mccoy's for lunch - the choice for me was between the lobster risotto fritters and sliders.m the waiter discouraged the risotto and encouraged the sliders. They were by far the absolute best sliders I have ever eaten.

Big puffy buns, short ribs made up the burger, freshly fried onions were inside the bun on top of the meat, and underneath the meat between the bun were mashed potatoes. Absolutely phenomenal combination of deliciousness. Not giant portion but just right. The sliders were accompanied by a couple of mustardy - sweet pickle slices. Yummy. I also had a small spinach salad with goat cheese, and red and golden beets, very lightly dressed. I have had many other meals at McCoy's but this was by far the absolute best. Highly recommended!!!

“Nice beer selection”
Reviewed November 26, 2011

Stopped for lunch. Nice selection of tap beer. The walleye basket was great...very light batter, good slaw, skin on fries and homemade ketchups to try.
