Travelodge Motel of St Cloud

Overall, we were not satisfied with the Jacuzzi Suite due to many imperfections such as, the carpet nails were exposed and I had stepped on them and bled. The bathroom floor was not updated so it had a few rotten spots, the window by the bed wouldn't fully close so we had to turn the heat up and when the heater came on it had a foul smell, also after flushing the toilet the pump wouldn't shut off until the handle was jiggled. The time on the clock was incorrect (not that big of a deal), the hair dryer was defective by not turning on at all, there were burn marks on the area above the headboard as well as the coffee table in the sitting room with a ripped pillow on the couch. The freezer was fully frosted and unable to place items in there, and last but not least, wax drippings dried on carpeted area by the headboard also. In regards to this situation I had spoke with the desk clerk at check out time and she claimed she had known about the running toilet and was unable to appoint a maintenance person to correct this issue. I also had spoke to the manager about all of these imperfections, she only became defensive and gave a 10 % discount. This experience was not worth the amount paid or the time, as you can see.

Booked online, and got confirmation. When we got there, we were denied checking in, clerk would not give any reason in writing why not. Got the cops to come so I would have an incident number to prove to Visa that I deserved a refund, as I was concerned they would tell Visa I just never showed up.

In the 10 minutes I was there, guest were denied blankets for a room that was too cold, and other guests were given towels to build a dam to keep a plumbing leak in their room. Nobody was being called in to repair these issues, and both parties were told that there wasn't a single empty room to move them to.

So they had given my room to a walk-in, even though it was already booked & confirmed.

The manager (Jackie) told the booking agent that I was checking in for 4 HOURS! Good thing that I had the cops to prove otherwise. Called head office, they don't care. Avoid ALL Travelodge hotels!

The outside is very unique, but once you get in the rooms they are definitely below average. First of all the halls are too small, and the walls are not thick enough. All night you could hear water running/toilets flushing/tv's on,etc. The rooms were pretty grimey and needed a thorough cleaning. The shower curtain was another story, yuck!!!! The breakfast was good, but they had no plates at all so you have to eat everything on napkins. The staff was very friendly, but I would not stay there again.

This is the second time we have stayed here. Each stay was for 6 nights and we plan to stay there again. The price is good, the grounds were being improved while we were there. The staff are still distracted and the manager seems to have been promoted above her abilities, but when we asked for a fridge for our room we they had one delivered.

When I first entered, I thought it had a unique style about it, but upon closer looking, the grounds needed some work to them. Check in was average, even though they stuck me on the ground floor and in a handicap room. The room it self was just barely average. The bed was the smallest queen bed I have ever seen. The remote had four buttons on it and the TV didn't have HBO as advertised. Also there was a loud creeking sound in the room and they said it was from a running toilet across the hall. It happened two more times that night which made for a difficult nights sleep. The continetal breakfast that morning wasn't anything to write home about. Lastly, the staff wasn't very helpful with simple questions. I'll stay at my usualy next time.

Your average discount hotel experience. Great customer service. Continental breakfast not something to rave about. Just pastries and two kinds of cereal.Glad it had wireless internet!

Overall: Not bad, but not great either.
