“Quality stay at the Quality Inn”
Reviewed November 26, 2011

My wife and I stayed here during Thanksgiving week. The staff (didn't catch the front desk persons name, but both she and Sandy the Night Auditor were great) were friendly, the room was clean, and the price was right! This is not a five star, luxury property, but they definitely have the basics down. Breakfast left a bit to be desired, but complaining about a free breakfast seems silly. Will definitely stay again.

Room Tip: First floor rooms are more convenient to EVERYTHING!

We stayed here because of price. was about $40.00 cheaper then other hotels in area.
Was a little leary. But suprised at the cleanlyness of the room. Attached to old Chicago resturant. The air conditioning was annoying off & on all nite. Had to have it. Check inn & out was easy.

We stayed one night here and although it was old the rooms were clean but a bit outdated. The room was only around 80 bucks so it wasn't bad for the money. The staff was very courteous and friendly. I noticed across the hallway that the guest had a large slobbering dog I'm not crazy about hotels that allow dogs in the rooms as I'm allergic to them and it could send me into an asthma attack....sorry dog lovers.

This is a very basic budget class hotel that has many shortcomings. You should really only stay here if you are purposely trying to save money from what the competitors are charging and even then the savings may not be worth it.
The hotel is in a good location near lots of restaurants and shopping and at the intersection of two main roads so its easy to get around.
It also has a pretty nice pool.
But the hotel could use some overall sprucing up. Newer carpet would be in order. The bathrooms could also use work.
The rooms are smallish and the bathrooms are really, really cramped. The door opens in and barely clears the toilet, so you can't fit two people in at all.
The rooms have decent TVs but they are not flat screens. Each room has a fridge and microwave and coffeemaker (although my coffee service was not cleaned or refilled the two days I stayed....one of several housekeeping errors on our trip).
The fixtures are fine but lower quality. The room has two desk chairs and a little desk. Internet was free and worked very well.
The Wall A/C unit worked well but was noisy.
The carpet in the halls and rooms were a bit dingy. We had one resident beetle crawling on the headboard when we checked in.
The beds were a bit hard and lower quality. The pillows were very soft and were very, very nice. The nicest thing by far in the whole stay.
There were plenty of recharging outlets.
The bathroom amenities were very small and cheap. We had to go get more because we had five people staying in our room. The soap bars were more like soap bar shavings. We also had to get more towels. With extra towels and so many amenities in our bathroom, you'd think the housekeeper would provide enough towels when making up the room the next day....but no she gave us the same small number and we had to again go get more.
The bathroom floor had loose tiles that would stick to your foot when you walked across it and I had to fix the toilet tank myself when the chain used to help the lever start the flush came off when I tried to flush one time. The shower had warm enough water but the shower head was too underpowered. It looked brand new but it looked like it was purchased at an "Everything's a Dollar" store.
The floors of the room and the hallway creaked pretty loudly when walking across it. Thankfully we are on the end of a hallway on the top floor and I'm sure that kept it pretty quiet. There was a baseball tourney in town and lots of boys running around so it could be hard to keep it quiet.
There is a small free continental breakfast that features a Belgian Waffle maker. But there's an IHOP right down the street. There's an Old Chicago pizza place connected which has great pizzas.
We got a pretty good discounted rate but despite that there are at least six or seven hotels within two blocks of here that have much higher standards and unless you needed to save the $30 or $40 to stay here, I'd try those other spots. This one could be good again but needs an investment to improve the overall quality.

Thank you valued guest for taking the time to post your comments about your last stay at our hotel. We are excited to inform you and future guests that our hotel has gone through and made many improvements since your stay. The hotel has recently added flat screen TVs to every room, put in brand new carpet in the lobby/hall areas, added brand new furniture to the lobby and also improved our FREE 'Deluxe' continental breakfast. These improvements are just a few of the many exciting things going on at the Quality Inn. All of our guests comments are taken seriously and we thank you for assisting us in our process towards 100% customer satisfaction.

I stay about 50 nights year in hotels and I usually avoid Quality Inns due to their great variability as to what you're going to get. In some cases, I have to use them to stay in the Choice Hotel chain in the smaller cities.

This hotel was a pleasant surprise. The staff are excellent, the pool and hot tube area nicely maintained. Also and this is important to me, the fitness center had modern, new trademill, eliptical and weight machines.

The room I booked was a king room with hot tube and was under $90.00. The room was clean, bed comfortable and good value. The TV was not a modern flat screen but the channel selection is good. Fridge and microwave are both new.

My only grip on the room was the shower. It is a larger walk in type with no door or screen, never my favorite, as the bathroom floor in these types usually ends up awash, but in this case the design seemed to stop that. My main issue is that the shower head is a ceiling mount, vertical water drop shower. I don't like this style, how do you wash without getting your head under it? It's a silly design that may look "up market" but give me a wall mount shower head that fires the water out any day. I don't feeling like I'm stuck in a tropical downpour and drowning when I want to rinse my body without getting my head wet. head.

Breakfast is very basic, nothing to get excited about. There is an attached "Old Chicago" for dinner so you don't have to go far to get a good bit of comfort food at night. Also a number of shops and restaurants very close by.

Yes, I would stay here again. Yes I would recommend it to others but it is a "basic" hotel.

Thank you seasoned traveler for taking a few moments to speak about the ammentities our hotel has to offer to those staying in the St. Cloud area. Our management team has been working hard to take in all your suggestions in an effort to make our hotel more modern. Since your posting on TripAdivisor, we have taken the liberty to add in brand new 32 inch flat screen TVS to each room. In addition, we are currently working on the new 'Q Shower program. This premium program has been installed to 'go green' and also aid in the installation of new fixtures in the showers. Thanks again for your wonderful comments! These comments are greatly appreciated by future travelers to the St. Cloud area.
