Eating at Michael's is like walking into a time warp - the decor, the menu, even the uniforms of the wait staff. This place is truly a classic. The food is also very traditional, which I don't consider a problem, but it wasn't wonderful. With all the high ratings, we had hoped for tastier, better prepared items, but the food really was mediocre. Probably would not return.

We were there as part of a large group and had an ok time. Overall we were satisfied but had a few issues with wrong sides and no sides, etc. not a big surprise with that many people. Food was ok- presentation was just plain bad though.

Worst part of the experience was the men's restroom. I've been in lots of public restrooms from convention centers to rest areas to other restaurants, even jiffy jons! This restroom smelled more like urine than any of those! If the restroom isn't kept up what does that say about the rest of the place? Not anything good, that's for sure.

Haven't been to many other Rochester hotels, but I imagine you could do better. I don't think I would give the place a second try.

Michael's is one Rochester restaurant that all visitors to the Medical Mecca of Rochester, Minnesota should experience! The lunch specials and menu are especially appealing. They are able to accomodate a large amount of traffic, with the multiple rooms at Michael's. That is something that Michael's continues to have--even after many decades in Rochester--a huge return crowd of both locals and patients in the city for the week.
Several notable Greek-influenced menu items. They also feature the Hubbell House dressing (from the Hubbell House Restaurant in Mantorville, Minn).

Note closed Sundays.

This is a long-time Rochester staple. It is like a flash from out of the past--in appearance, the menu, the food itself. The decor is old-fashioned, but very nice. You can always find something good to eat here, the service is very good, and it is reliable. Since many people here are having some kind of medical tests, it is a good place to get plain food that is tasty, but meets your dietary requirements. Not to say that it is just for that---this place is always filled with locals and that is a good sign. It is so convenient as it is connected to most of the hotels in the area by skyways or tunnels--so no need to go outside in cold weather!
If you stay in Rochester, you will definitely want to eat at Michaels.
