Very convenient to Mayos Clinic, connected by walkway. Drains are very slow. Nice pool area but air conditioner was too cold to swim. Great parking garage connected to hotel. They do charge $13.50 per day to park

Thank you very much for reviewing your recent stay with us. We are sorry that you found it too cold to swim. We will be sure to have our maintenance team adjust the thermostat in the pool area. Thank you again for the feedback.

Hotel is very dirty - carpets are filthy and actually sticky. I found a dirty sock on the floor between the footstool and chair in my room. One coworker found a retainer on the floor between her nightstand and bed. Housekeeping left a door unlocked after servicing another coworkers room. According to the manager, the hotel is closing in 6 weeks for 10 months for a renovation. The housekeeping employees have obviously already checked out. Don't bother checking in. The hotel across the street or down one block are both much better than this. Hopefully the renovation will fix the problems, but for now avoid at all cost.

Scott,
I am so sorry to hear about the way you found your room. We will work diligently with the staff we have left to make sure that they pay better attention to detail while cleaning. Although we will be closing, we still need to have clean rooms for the next 6 weeks and we will work hard to ensure this. Thank you for feedback.

Located in downtown and connected to the sky bridge which allows you to get around the area protected from the weather. This also provides access to malls and Mayo Clinic and making it less likely you will need to rent a car unless you’re going out of downtown area. Hotel was nice and clean and quiet. Restaurant staff were quite friendly.

The hotel has a very inconvenient check-in process. Your options are:
1. Park at the public ramp approx 1 block away and carry all your backs back to the hotel and proceed to the 2nd level where the lobby is located.
2. Park in front of the hotel and carry all your bags into the hotel, make your way up to the lobby, get checked in and carry all your bags to your room and then go back down to take your car to the public parking.

Seriously, no valet? This doesn't work when you are traveling with an 82 year old with very limited mobility. You'd think that hotel management would have thought through the fact that they are likely to have many guests who are patients at Mayo.

Finally, when we arrived in our room, I was shocked to see that the hotel doesn't even have USB ports. Might be time to update your hotel to offer common amenities.

Last time they'll have me as a customer.

Thank you, kindly, for your feedback on your recent stay. We are very sorry that there weren't any USB ports in your room and that we currently do not have a bellman. With our new hotel ownership, we will be starting a full renovation this fall. With the renovation we expect many new updates as well. We understand your frustration, but do hope that you will give us another try after the renovation.

Recently, I stayed here with my mother, who is a post surgery patient at Mayo Clinic and after delays at the airport, we were ready to check in and sleep before her early morning appointment.

Upon arriving in the room, we found the following sub-standard conditions. It was disturbing because of her high risk of infection. We have stayed at several Holiday Inns and this was by far the worst experience. The handicap accessible shower had mold/stains as shown in the following pictures. The toilet was also stained. There were hand prints on the door frames, which indicated to me that it had not been cleaned in awhile. The shower faucet was held together with tape. The mouth wash provided had a broken seal and was unusable.

The most disturbing part was the bed. The top blanket had some type of stains, possibly food, so I removed it. Upon removal, we found popcorn underneath; however, neither of us had eaten popcorn. We slept with just the flat sheet, hoping the actual sheets had been changed. In hindsight, we should have requested a different room, but after delays at the airport my mobility impaired mother only wanted to go to sleep to prepare for her early morning post surgery consult.

I made the front desk aware of the conditions upon check out, but I was only provided with an email address to send in my complaint. I felt these issues needed to be escalated beyond a simple email, so I contacted Guest Relations via the IHG Rewards club.

We are very sorry for the way you encountered your room upon arrival, as this is not how our rooms should be when they are put into our system as clean. We have handled this appropriately with our housekeeping department and have also had our maintenance team fix the issues as well. We are truly appreciative of your feedback.
