Room was very dated, and not all that clean. Pool area looks bright and airy in the hotel's photos, but felt dank and dark during our stay. The hot tub is in a weird area that is very uninviting. The photos also make it look like there is a lot of room around the pool for sitting, but there isn't. If a nice pool area is important to you, then this hotel is below average.

Thank you for taking the time to comment on your February stay at the Best Western Plus Kelly Inn. We appreciate your feedback and are taking your comments to heart. We continually update our rooms on a rotating basis and will install new flat screen television sets in all of our rooms this September. Our pool area is also scheduled for updating this fall and we have adjusted our lighting to keep this area bright during darker winter months.

Sincerely,

John Nygaard
General Manager

Hotel is fairly inexpensive. We will have stayed here for two weeks; just past the first week now. It has been extremely noisy, mostly children running and yelling in the hallways. Due to the arrangement of the pools, the entire hotel smells of chlorine. Hallways are not clean, room service trays are left for days, floors are dirty.

Our room (one queen bed) is quite small, and badly arranged. You can not get from the sitting area to the bathroom if someone is using the desk. Our towels, wash cloths and bath mats, and sheets have been like rags, ragged fraying edges and holes. The maid service speaks no english, so can not understand the simplest requests, and ask questions that they then do not understand the answers. This morning at the breakfast set-up, there was an egg in the serving tray that had bites taken out of it. When I have spoken to the front desk, my concerns have been met with laughter, not solutions.

Room Tip: As far from pool as possible, for quiet/ fresh air

Thank you for taking the time to respond to Trip Advisor regarding your stay at the BW PLUS Kelly Inn in Plymouth, MN. Please know that we are taking your comments to heart and are focusing on improving. We realize that our pool area is very popular, especially on the weekends, and draws numerous families. We are working to be more diligent in keeping hallway noise to a minimum. We are required by Best Western standards to have quality linens and high thread and weight counts. We have instructed our laundry and housekeeping staff to ensure they are more aggressive in discarding any worn or frayed linen in the future.

Management does walk our hallways daily to assure no room service trays are left overnight and we do apologize if this was missed during your stay with us. We are in the midst of renovating a brand new breakfast room that will have superior and expanded breakfast choices as well as improved service from trained hotel staff. We expect this room to open the first week of May 2011. Again, we apologize for these inconveniences during your stay and will use your concerns as a way to improve upon our service in the future.

We stayed here for 4 nights. The best here - the pool area. The rooms were pretty small and ours was so far away from the lobby that it took like 10 mins. We found an alternative entrance and that worked better. The breakfast is served in a small area in the restaurant. The seating is limited and the display wasn't very attractive. During weekends, they serve in a conference room sort of area which wasn't very good either. The rooms were dated and were in need of an update though they were clean. I would look for other options around.

Our family is very spread out with very young children through young adults and wanted a place where everyone could have a good time. We found that here with a great swimming pool/water park like play area for the kids, large TV for video fun games and get set up in a suite for a fun gathering area to party in. The rooms were excellent, clean and quiet. Just off I494 and Hwy 55, it's very easy for everyone in and out of the cities to find. What I like the best of all is how professional and helpful everyone on the staff were. They were always cheerful and there to help with every little detail needed. They made the weekend work for the entire group of 27 plus one pet. Our time there was absolutely excellent because of the great people at Best Western Kelly Inn at Plymouth, MN.

We were impressed with the value here for the service we received. When we checked in they weren't sure if your rooms were ready and they were ready to assign us to a different set of rooms on the other side of thepool area because they were ready. They showed us the map of where the rooms would be located and because we wanted to be close to amenities (ice machine, etc.), and wanted our rooms to strattle both pools since there were ages 2-11 using the facility, we asked how long it would be to get into our original rooms.( We were early in checking in.) One of the front desk employees personally went to our originally booked rooms to see if they were ready. This spoke volumes!
The pools were awesome! There is a kiddie pool (1 ft. deep) and a different pool (roughly 3-4 ft. deep) for those that wanted to play water basketball or use the slides. The water temperature was very comfortable and our 2-year-old was in the pool all afternoon. (Some pools at different hotels are so cold that it is hard to enjoy, but this one was perfect!!! There is a hot tub, too. There were plenty of pool towels brought out for use. Our family celebrated Christmas there and we had three pool-side rooms. There is a great place for those that wanted to sit on the patio and have beverages and snack. If we got hungry we ordered from the Green Mill Restaurant that is within the building. In the morning there is an excellent continental breakfast. They had hard-boiled eggs, waffles, cereeal, oatmeal, muffins, dougnuts, coffee, tea, and all the condiments in a very welcoming atmosphere for families and the waffles were the best I have ever had!
Everyone had a great time! Highly recommend!

We stayed here with our young sons, ages 9, 6, & 5 and we all had a good time. The pool is just right for young kids with lots of pool toys and slides. The hot tub was nice for the parents. Nothing fancy but everything was clean and worked. The room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was one of the better free hotel breakfasts we have had with a very large assortment which is great when you are traveling with kids.

Rooms were clean and staff was friendly. The Green mill restaurant lacked attention do detail, which I had to make a few trips to retrieve the appropriate eating utensils.
