“Summer Family Fun!!”
Reviewed January 14, 2009

Lykins Pinehurst Resort is an absolutely wonderful place to stay. We have visited the resort for one week during the summer for the past 5 years. Our kids absolutely love it. Our 5 year old talks about "family vacation" all of the time. It is a smaller resort with wonderful amenities: fishing, pontooning, a fabulous beach area, 2 playgrounds for kids and basketball courts, to name a few. It is also very close to golf, restaurants, mini golf and shopping. The cabins are homey and well-cared for. The owners of the resort are incredible. They take pride in what they do and are some of the most genuine, kind-hearted people I know. They take time to get to know everyone. Our whole family has many wonderful memories here.

This was our third year back to Pinehurst. A perfect ending to our summer as a family before school starts. Great fishing, sunshine, swimming, boating, and time with our friends and family. We have brought more families with us each year that we go. Just a great get-away from the city!

We spent a week at Pinehurst this summer and had a great time! The fishing was good and we were able to put fish on the line for the kids. When not fishing off the dock the kids were swimming on the nice clean beach, using the paddle boat, and diving off the floating swim platform. Roger was very helpful at getting us a great guide that put us on some good Walleye at a slow time of year. The cabins all had air conditioning but really wasn't needed even in Aug. Weather was sunny and mid 70's-low 80's all week. We made the trip on recommendation from some friends and spent the week w/ them and their kids. Its a great time with great people. You rent individual cabins with plenty of room, adequate kitchen to fix meals, and great porches to sit on while you relax each evening.

Can't wait to get back and would highly recommend this resort if you want to relax and get away from it. If you can't stand to completely get away - we were able to connect to wireless internet to do a little "catch up".

Our family has been going to Lykins Pinehurst Resort for over 18 years. We have enjoyed many memories on beautiful Gull Lake. Roger, Judy and their family have always welcomed us back year after year and made us feel like part of their family. We look forward to our time in Minnesota and especially at Lykins on Gull.

For a few years we searched on and off for what we hoped would be the "perfect resort" - we found it at Pinehurst !!!!

Super clean, spacious, well-maintained cabins nestled in the pines. No TV's - a big selling point to us. Beautiul views and a crystal clear lake that we can catch fish in - even off the dock !!

Gull Lake / Brainerd / Nisswa area has some very large luxury-type resorts, but we would chose Pinehurst over all the others.

Campfire area, small store, recreation equipment, use of a grill, and best of all, fantastic hosts in Roger and Judy. Although we've only been there two years, we know we'll be there for many more.

Tons of activites in the area as well, golfing, go-carts, horseback riding, spas, shopping, turtle & minnow races and plenty more.

If you need a break from the world, we highly reccomend Pinehurst !!!

Our family has been going to Lykins Pinehurst for 9 years and it is by far our favorite vacation. Roger and Judy have preserved the traditional Minnesota resort experience. Private cabins, a great property and fantastic access to Gull Lake. We always feel like part of the family when we visit.

Lykins Pinehurst Resort is one of our favorite places in the world to be! The owners, Roger and Judy, truly are two of the kindest, most welcoming people we've met. This is a clean, family-friendly resort. We've never had a problem with our cabin. It is clean and well-equipped. Roger and Judy are attentive to the needs of their guests. Our first year there we wanted to have a fish fry with our basketfull of sunnies, but we didn't have anything to use for batter. Rather than us going to the store, Judy brought us her box of "Fryin Magic". Wow! What a great fish fry! There truly is a "family" feeling when staying at Lykins Pinehurst Resort. The resort has an excellent swimming beach, raked impeccably weed-free each night. There is also a great swing set and two "playground" sets for kids to play on, not to mention all of the other outdoor recreation equipment they have available. Nearby Nisswa has tons of great family-friendly activities. Don't miss the turtle races and the Chocolate Ox! We just can't say enough good things about this place, which we stumbled upon on the internet a few years ago. We have spent the same week at the resort for the last two summers, and are looking forward to our third annual trip this July!
