Owner description: Extending more than 7.5 miles between Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick, this is the longest bridge in the world that spans over ice-covered waters.

This is not really about travelling on the bridge.

To take photos of the span of the bridge on the PEI side, go to the side road next to the shopping centre/village next to the bridge, where the lighthouse is. There is also a railcar there as well.

Besides, it is cheaper by the bridge anyway.

I have been to PEI a couple of times and we opted to NOT use the ferry. The bridge is amazing. This most recent time, we drove over during heavy rain so it didn't seem to be that big deal but when it's not raining, there are a few points in the drive that you can see along the bridge really well. If you go to the Beach in Chelton Provincial Park, you can get a great view of the bridge. The bridge is talked about in other parts of the world too- In Cuba, our tour guide explained that their bridge was done after consultations with the designers and engineers of the Confederation bridge! Please note that you don't pay a toll on entry to PEI but you have to pay when you leave (just like Cuba, eh?).

I would like to visit again when ice is present under bridge as they claim that this is the longest bridge over ice flows in the world. Hard to see very much except at the ends for picture taking. This bridge was built with 3 curves to help keep drivers alert when driving over

The bridge had tall brick sides, so you have to stretch yourself to really see well.
It is still beautiful.
You have to pay CAN$45 to leave PEI.- you don't pay to go in, you just pay to leave the island.

It is an beautiful structure and so peaceful. It's not like the golden gate but it is peace.
A very smooth drive and the bump in the middle list you just a little higher. For me the wonder was once we crossed and parked and walked down under the bridge and saw it from below. The clay sand the light house the bridge. Just take your time. Breath. And relax and you will enjoy.
It was $45 to drive across but we had a gift card. Either way we would have done it just for the drive.
