I was here with some student council friends for a convention. I am a hard critic of places. My friends compare me to Robert Irvine or Anthony Malchourri. This is a very nice hotel with nice upgrades. It felt very clean and safe. As for complaints I have a couple. The hotel was very loud however I understand that it is downtown so that's OK. The beds seemed old but were still comfortable. As for my room inspection I inspected two. #1202 and #1220. #1220 looked FANTASTIC. #1202 needed a little deeper clean but still looked good. 1202 needs a bathroom vent cleaning, a little more under the bed and the sink had a crack. Still a very nice hotel that I would recommend to anyone in MSP.

I spent 3 nights here from January22-25. Location was convenient and connected to the skyway system so I did not have to walk outside to get to my destination (very handy given it was a bitterly cold week there) but the food was not great and room service was VERY EXPENSIVE. My breakfast fruit plate and coffee downstairs at their restaurant was 25.00 and two of my room service dinners came to over $50, for a cup of soup and salmon and veggies. And several mistakes were made on the order each night. Food was bland and flavourless. My room,411, had an overwhelming odour of fried food during the evenings but went away by 10 or 11pm. Also, wifi was over 16.00 per night- normally included at most Marriotts I have stayed at, so add that to their exorbitant prices. As a former road warrior who put over 250,000 miles each year, globally, and a longtime Marriott patron (my honeymoon was completely on points at the wonderful Marriott in Kauai) , this was a disappointment, to say the least. I will look elsewhere in March for my next visit to Minneapolis. On the plus side, the people in Minneapolis in general are simply wonderful. Maybe it is because they have to huddle together for warmth, but it brought me back to my childhood in Edmonton. It is a terrific city.

Room Tip: Avoid 411 for the smell at night. Perhaps a higher room would not be as bad.

Stayed here on a couples weekend. Stayed in a wonderful executive floor corner suite. What a great view of the city. Comfortable clean bed, nice television, front desk friendly and helpful. My only criticism is the parking situation. It is the most complicated parking and then getting to the front desk process. They have valet, but the price difference justifies parking yourself. All considered it is a nice Marriott with nice rooms.

I LOVED this room because from the 27th floor, corner room, at night, with the curtains opened it was like a huge wall mural of the city! Spectacular!! The room was very comfortable, clean, quiet, and had everything we needed to have a perfect romantic evening. We also enjoyed dinner and breakfast in the restaurant and it was close to a lot of shopping too! The staff were terrific and helpful as well. If I could change only one thing, it would be that I wish the bathtub/shower was a little nicer. It seemed small and ordinary, for as nice as this hotel is. Aside from that, no complaints! I will definitely be staying here again in the future!!!

Stayed here on night in January 2013. Were in town for a Timberwolves game. Stayed in room 1816. Rooms was smaller than I am used to, but they made good use of the space there was. Room was average, bed was very comfortable, and towels were soft. Parking was $14 for a Saturday night. Skyway to Target Center for game was less than 10 minute walk. No long elevator waits. Breakfast buffet in the am was good. Would stay in again due to great location.

I am a frequent Marriott guest spending over 130 days per year with the chain.
This was my (at least) 10th stay at this property in the past 5 years. First the good: the hotel is in an excellent location connected to the Skyway, with easy access parking and an excellent door staff. The lobby is beautiful and most of the staff were of expected high level Marriott quality. Now the not-so-good: this hotel is in dire need of renovation. There are significant signs of frequent use and ageing everywhere. Doors are worn out with huge gaps under them, worn and not really clean light switches, bathrooms, mattresses, linens, sofas, etc.. all of them show signs of significant wear. We had housekeeping knock at 8:30 AM on Saturday. My fault for not putting up the DND sign, but 8:30? The decor is early 90s at best. We had poor response from room service waiting for over an hour (and 3 calls) for some champagne glasses and a very lackluster response from the front desk on a Saturday night to have the issue resolved. I did hear that the hotel is being renovated on several floors and I hope that it will look magnificent. I will definitely stay there again and am hoping to see this property revived.

I have stayed here before and like many aspects of this hotel. Location is good for many downtown purposes. Good restaurants are close by. Rooms are fine although nothing special. The one suggestion I would make regards the street level entry. The lobby is fine but on the 5th floor. The street level entry is so severe and utilitarian that it makes a depressing first impression. On a cold Minnesota day, it would be great to walk into an area with trees, plants, natural wood, maybe a fireplace or almost anything that would seem more welcoming than what it is now.
