Title says it all. I've stayed at this hotel in the past (several years ago). As a Platinum Elite, I was upgraded to a bi-level suite on the 31st floor. I had access to the concierge lounge one day (closed on weekends) and the offerings were good.
The room was very nice, and the suite is well, sweet - nice views. There's a fridge in the downstairs sitting room and another flat panel tv. The upstairs was ok, but the mattress was not very firm at all (very lumpy) and the bath was a little worn (mildew stains above the tub/shower are just painted over).
Another issue in the room was poor wifi reception (both bad signal and getting kicked off). It was a pain sometimes, but weigh that against the room upgrade and I chose not to report it.
Service was good, both in the lounge and at the reception desk. The elevators were being worked on, so there were delays - sometimes significant - in getting upstairs or downstairs.
If you are self-parking, the hotel charges $19 for weekday and $14 for weekend in the city center ramp. There are cheaper options nearby via skyway (like the ABC ramp). I would personally rate this a 3.5* with potential.

Room Tip: Bi-level suites are very nice, great views.

I stayed here for 4 nights for a convention. The Convention Center is located about a 15 minute walk away. It's possible to do an indoor walk through the SkyWay (but a little confusing - go to the Macy's, IDS Center, Bakers Center, International Center, Hilton and then follow signs to the Convention Center) but only during the week and during business hours.

The hotel is convenient to Target Center and the Warehouse District as well as the Nicollet Mall. There's a bus stop right in front of the Marriott's entrance which is almost always full of people, some of them rowdy and drunk, some of them waiting to go home from work.

The entrance is to a monitored elevator area and the actual lobby is on the 5th floor. There is a separate set of guestroom elevators so you can't go to the guestroom floors directly from the street level.

Check-in was friendly and courteous and efficient.

I had a room on the 28th floor and the accommodations were spacious and well-furnished, including a coffee maker and a flat-screen TV. Wi-fi and wired internet connections were available for a fee.

The room was clean. Except for 1 night when the Northwestern football team was in town, the floor was quiet and restful.

There is no pool here but there is a very large fitness center open 24 hours. I never had trouble getting a treadmill or an elliptical machine.

The lobby restaurant/bar had several TVs and was very nice. The food was very good and service excellent.

Stayed here over a weekend to attend a show at First Avenue. The location was perfect for this as First Avenue is one block away. We also walked to the Walker Art Center; it was not a short walk, but not hard.

The hotel is a triangular shaped building, which makes the rooms have interesting shapes. I imagine that they all have different configurations.

The front desk was superhelpful in moving us to king from two doubles upon request.

The bed was comfortable. The room was quiet.

I would stay here again if we come back to Minneapolis for other shows.

I consider this my Home Marriott. It is always where I go when I need a weekend away from work. The location is great in downtown Minneapolis. It is connect to the skyway which is really nice in the winter or when the weather is not so good outside. The staff at the hotel always welcomes me back with a big smile. The rooms are great and the lobby is very nice. The breakfast buffet is also great. The servers are very nice and helpful.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of Target Field.

I wish my stay at this Marriott had come with a complimentary pair of ear plugs instead of a complimentary breakfast. The access door between my room and the one next door had about a 1.5" gap under it. As it turns out, that meant for hours without sleep (for me) as I was forced to listen to every offensive noise made by the gentlemen next door and their female "guest." Seriously, I could hear them breathe. Pretty decent hotel, nice lobby, but you should never be able to hear the people in the next room breathing. Wouldn't stay there again because of that experience.

Room Tip: Ask for the quietest room they have, and then get a pair of earplugs on top of it.

We hope that when your travels find you back in Minneapolis, that you will stay with us again as we would be happy to give you those ear plugs (just in case).

Located in downtown Minneapolis, close to shopping, restaurants, entertainment and transportation. Check in and out was quick and friendly, all staff we encountered were helpful, friendly and smiling. Room was very clean, bed comfortable, bathroom was clean and shower was hot and relaxing. We were on one of the top floors and the view was awesome! Definitely would stay here again.

My wife and I went for a getaway weekend and were very impressed with the Marriott. We checked our car at the door and someone was there right away to help us unload all for our recent shopping trip and have it delivered to our room for us.

The check in process was VERY smooth! We were met by someone right after entering the reception area and they knew we were coming. They knew we checked our car and were ready to get us our keys and on to our weekend.

The room was very nice, especially the bathroom. Everything was clean and new. The restroom had an area to put on make-up for my wife and still extra room for 2 people. Clean bedding and very warm/inviting.

We were on a higher floor and had a great view of the city.

A plus was that the San Fransico 49rs were staying in the same hotel.

Room Tip: Higher rooms the better, and the breakfast option at check in is the way to go.
