I'm not certain when their renovation was completed, but what was a somewhat aged hotel has a whole new look. I barely recognized it.

The lobby has been redesigned and the rooms are clean & fresh. The staff is very helpful & there's a van to drive you into the downtown area without charge. This is very helpful.

Good location on Nicollet Mall in downtown Minneapolis. Our room was a recently renovated standard King. The bathroom was big and bright. Bed was very comfortable. The Prairie Kitchen restaurant on site has an excellent breakfast buffet. Parking ramp is convenient and accessable directly from hotel. The unique fireplace in the lobby is beautiful!

The Hyatt Regency Minneapolis is certainly on a prime piece of land. From the hotel you can walk to just about anywhere through the Skyway system, they also have access to most other forms of public transportation including rickshaws and the green bicycle rentals that you see about the town. Loring Park is also within easy walking distance, along with a convenience store and liquor store. So for a convenient location, it's not bad at all.

The hotel itself is showing a little age. Some of the amenities you might expect in a four star hotel are missing. There was no mini bar in my room, no robes, I had to request a refrigerator for my room. Toiletries were reasonable, including some free name brand toothpaste which was a nice touch.

The desk in the room had a HDMI and VGA input that would allow you to connect a wide variety of laptops (or even tablets with the right cable) directly into the decent sized flat screen (without having to fiddle around with connections on the TV itself). The Internet was of reasonably fast speed, certainly enough to stream digital content, although you have to pay per night and more outrageously PER DEVICE, which is inexcusable.

I ate once in the restaurant, and had to send the item back because the potatoes were raw. The lunch menu was also very limited, and for such a limited menu in a hotel like this, that mistake was not acceptable; especially at those prices. Maybe I just got unlucky.

There is a convenient little pantry store that sells snacks, supplies and drinks. It's a great store with perky staff, but then when they are selling tiny bottles of water for $4, they had better be perky!

One thing that was certainly outstanding was the view. I really did get an amazing city view from my window, and that was worth the price of admission.

So overall, a good hotel. Not amazing, not exquisite, but good. And if you can get it for a bargain price on a discount website, so much the better. Just remember, like most hotels of this kind they are going to up sell you with extras such as parking, valet, Internet, expensive food and drinks. But it's hard to hold that against them, because that comes with the territory on this kind of hotel.

Room Tip: I'd ask for a city view personally, since I'd imagine rooms on the other side of the hotel a...

Just finished a couple nights at the Hyatt Regency in Minneapolis. It's located on the edge of downtown on the Nicollet Mall. Got a great deal via one WIlliam Shatner-advertised website. Check-in was easy. There's a parking garage attached to the hotel. Good advice for some wo don't like walking would be to leave the bags at the front and park the car - even though the two are connected, it's a relatively long walk. Rooms are nicely laid out, with all needed outlets nearby. Took advantage of late night room service and found the food good and hot. There's also inddor bike parking, as I take mine out of my car and used it to explore both Minneapolis and St. Paul. I'll go again, and recommend the hotel to anyone who wants to stay in the center of a vibrant and interesting city.

Room Tip: Check this site, of course. Be a member of Hyatt Gold Rewards, AAA, etc. And yes, check Priceline.

This is a beautiful hotel in a convenient location. I stayed here for one night after a transatlantic flight before continuing my trip with Amtrak (which is a whole another story...), and I couldn't ask for a more comfortable place to sleep off my jetlag. Service was friendly and helpful. I wish I could have stayed a little longer!

This hotel is in a great location on Nicollette near Loring Park. The property is in good shape, showing some age but the public spaces were tastefully done and the rooms were actually very nice. I chose this hotel specifically because of its proximity to Loring Park so the location was perfect for me. It is a couple of blocks to walk to where the restaurants and bars on Nicollette start but it is a pleasant walk.

Really, the only problem (and it was a big problem for me) was the check-in process. It was Labor Day week-end so maybe they were short staffed but it was a hassle. To sum it up, after inquiring about an early check-in via phone and being told to come at noon I arrived at 12:30 and finally got checked into the second of our adjoining rooms at 5:30 pm. During the process we were assigned rooms on different floors and assigned and given keys to an occupied room (major security breach).
