Description: Chef/Owner Hector Ruiz welcomes you to Cafe Ena: A cozy intimate restaurant located in the tangletown neighborhood in south Minneapolis. Chef Ruiz pares his classic French technique and South American palate to present an exciting menu of Latin-Fusion cuisine. Begin your meal with a south american style ceviche, shrimp, fish, scallops and shrimp in a aji sauce. The many entrees include, scallops, halibut, pork tenderloin, Argentinean style steaks finished in a savory chimichurri. The wine list focuses on a wide range of varietals from Central and South America. Weekly Wine Flights are a great opportunity to sample the many styles offered on the list. If wine is not your thing, perhaps you would enjoy one of the many cervesas, always served in a frosty mug with a lime.

“Sangria and Service Ruined Our Experience”
Reviewed January 7, 2014

My boyfriend and I came for a late lunch. We had a 2:00pm reservation and showed up 10 minutes early. We were seated upon arrival, and then ignored for 15 minutes while 3 other tables were seated, had there orders taken, and got drinks. One table even got their food, before someone came to check on us. The waiter apologized and said he would expedite our food order and buy us dessert. We ordered sangria, ceviche, a cubano sandwich, and a beet salad. The sangria had absolutely no wine flavor, just tasted like koolaid. The ceviche was fresh and flavorful. The beet salad was decent. However, they forgot the mustard and pickles on the cubano sandwich, when they brought it out, which it really needed. After the inital poor service and the mistake on our sandwich we had enough and decided not to wait for our free dessert.

“A Delicious and Unique Experience”
Reviewed January 2, 2014

I have dined at Café Ena two times in the last few months and enjoyed it immensely both times. The restaurant is fairly small. Get a booth, if possible. The second time I visited, one of my dining companions said the Bife de Chorizo was one of the best steaks he has ever eaten. I have had beef both times that I was there and would agree with his assessment, but the menu has many other options, including fish, seafood, poultry, pork and a vegetarian option. The menu varies as they take a seasonal approach to their menu with ingredients sourced locally, sustainably harvested and raised ethically. Highly recommended.

“Great Latin Fusion”
Reviewed November 5, 2013

Really, really ice Latin fusion. Been here 3-4 times over the past 18 months and always a great experience with strong, knowlegable service. Among the best Latin food choices in twin Cities.

Each time we have dined at Cafe Ena, we were treated to great Latin fusion food, it does not matter if you go for an evening dinner or brunch on the weekend, you will be pleased. Also great attentive service.
