Description: Chef/Owner Hector Ruiz welcomes you to Cafe Ena: A cozy intimate restaurant located in the tangletown neighborhood in south Minneapolis. Chef Ruiz pares his classic French technique and South American palate to present an exciting menu of Latin-Fusion cuisine. Begin your meal with a south american style ceviche, shrimp, fish, scallops and shrimp in a aji sauce. The many entrees include, scallops, halibut, pork tenderloin, Argentinean style steaks finished in a savory chimichurri. The wine list focuses on a wide range of varietals from Central and South America. Weekly Wine Flights are a great opportunity to sample the many styles offered on the list. If wine is not your thing, perhaps you would enjoy one of the many cervesas, always served in a frosty mug with a lime.

This restaurant had very good and traditional spanish meals... if your willing to wait an hour and a half to get you very cold stale meal. We had made a reservation for 5 at 6:45 we promptly arrived at 6:25 but they had told us that they just gave our table to another party straight ahead of us. I don't know about you but that made me pretty piste off because we reserved a table for 6:45 but we didn't get one until 8:30 and that was only because one party told us on the way out that they felt bad for us so they left early. When we sat down we were giving water right away but we didn't see a waiter until about 9 o'clock so we ordered the guacamole, which came quickly and was very delicious. Then we placed our dinner orders (i Had the steak) which must have come with in 45 min- 1 hour and when it arrived it was not cooked i would say it was a little below rare when i ordered it medium and it was cold and stale like it had been cooked or lack there of 3 months ago so that is why i am giving this a 2 out of 5.

I am already plotting my return visit to Cafe Ena. We had not been here before.

The whole dining experience was wonderful-we were warmly greeted; first by the host then by the wait staff, the kind of welcome that says ‘we are glad you are here’. The restaurant was dimly lit and a reprieve from the harsh winter, toasty, but not overly so. While there were quite a few diners, the restaurant was not noisy.
While I am not a Latin fusion expert, I do like to try many types of food (favs include Satay 2 Go, Obento Ya, La Hacienda Tacqueria, Moscow on the Hill, Quang, Zen Box, Mandarin Kitchen, Thai Curry House, El Meson, Gandhi Mahal etc.). To my palate, the items that we ordered were tasty. Our starters, the sangria had nice bite sized pieces of fresh fruit, and the ceviche, flavorful pieces of seafood nicely seasoned (in an almost soup-like sauce), accompanied by crispy chips. The special of the night (fish) was moist, and the scallops done just right (light, moist, neither greasy or salty), accompanied by risotto (yum). The portions were just the right amount of food. Dessert was a light, flavorful panna cotta, not too heavy or sweet.
Wait staff were just the right amount of attentive and we never felt rushed. I already have two-three other items I want to try and plan to return to Cafe Ena soon.

Cafe ena did a wonderful job hosting a group of 7 for our celebration dinner. To start we wanted to try this restaurant because of the Latin influance, but were sad to find out their Chilean empanadas did not contain ground beef. I email Erin, who does their catering, and she lined them up for us. It was a very nice touch to a great dinner.
All of our food was great; my scallops were particularly well prepared. I could whole*heartedly reccomend any of their seafood dishes. They seemed to be the most inventive and well prepared.
We enjoyed our dinner so much we utalized their catering on NYE. The paella was very well done and authentic.

Thanks to Erin for lining up two great evenings

Took the family to Cafe Ena last night and had a delicious meal. So often these neighborhood restaurants have either run of the mill food that is very forgettable or odd food that is not very tasty. Cafe Ena is neither of those things. There were at least eight things on the menu that looked like they would be amazing so it was hard to narrow the choices.

We all had something different and tried each others food. It was all good.

This would definitely be a good "date night" place too but also there were some good sized groups having a good time.

We've been to Cafe Ena a number of times in the last few years. The food, wine and atmosphere have been consistently good.

Last we were here we had a dish with scallops and another olive crusted steak over risotto. Muy Bien!
