Description: Chef/Owner Hector Ruiz welcomes you to Cafe Ena: A cozy intimate restaurant located in the tangletown neighborhood in south Minneapolis. Chef Ruiz pares his classic French technique and South American palate to present an exciting menu of Latin-Fusion cuisine. Begin your meal with a south american style ceviche, shrimp, fish, scallops and shrimp in a aji sauce. The many entrees include, scallops, halibut, pork tenderloin, Argentinean style steaks finished in a savory chimichurri. The wine list focuses on a wide range of varietals from Central and South America. Weekly Wine Flights are a great opportunity to sample the many styles offered on the list. If wine is not your thing, perhaps you would enjoy one of the many cervesas, always served in a frosty mug with a lime.

Took the family to Cafe Ena last night and had a delicious meal. So often these neighborhood restaurants have either run of the mill food that is very forgettable or odd food that is not very tasty. Cafe Ena is neither of those things. There were at least eight things on the menu that looked like they would be amazing so it was hard to narrow the choices.

We all had something different and tried each others food. It was all good.

This would definitely be a good "date night" place too but also there were some good sized groups having a good time.

We've been to Cafe Ena a number of times in the last few years. The food, wine and atmosphere have been consistently good.

Last we were here we had a dish with scallops and another olive crusted steak over risotto. Muy Bien!

How lucky am I? We went to eat at Patisserie and found it closed, so we walked accross the street to Cafe Ena. This cafe is one of the better finds we have had recently and in Minneapolis, quite far from the border. We lived for a decade in Tucson and fancy ourselves as somewhat expert in the grading of food from south of the border (we made many trips there, too, sampling the foods of a number of Mexican areas. I can confidently report that the enchiladas mole, and quesadilla con queso y hongos (cheese and wild mushrooms) were first class. And be sure to sample the quacamole as it is unique with mango and other items very tastefully added. The young lady who served us gave us great advice, and the price was quite reasonable. Be sure to check this cafe out when looking for great food in Minneapolis.

My wife and I are cafe Ena "regulars". Regulars in the sense, (we love this place so much), that we try not to go every week and spoil the special experience it is. Over the past two years we have introduced Cafe Ena to 40+ people and counting.

It is a small locally owned neighborhood restaurant in South Minneapolis that offers excellent latin fusion cuisine. The best appetizers include the ceviche, chunky gaucamole, and the Camaron Caribe (shrimp with corn-potato fritters that are to die for!) As for the entrees, we enjoy them all, but we have never gone wrong selecting the daily specials. They prepare fish as well as anyone in Minneapolis! (including McCormick & Schmick's or Oceanaire).

The atmosphere is simple, but comfortable. We like to come a little earlier in the evening so we can get one of the few booths. Most of the servers are quite friendly, with one or two exceptions, and are always attentive. The pricing is a little high, but is within other quality dining experiences, and has never been a deal breaker.

My wife and I highly recommend Cafe Ena. But please, save a booth for us!

My wife and I shared the scallops and the pork loin. Both were fantastic and went great with the sangria. Definitely get a reservation but it's a great place for a double date.
