“Just a little above average, but awfully convenient if staying at the Hilton”

I would really just give this 3.5 stars if that was possible. It was fine. I was at a conference at the Hilton one block away and it was convenient. We were welcome with our big group. The wait staff were very nice. I had the fish and chips one night and burger for lunch two days later. Food was OK, nothing spectacular, but not bad. I only sat outside, so I can't speak about the inside except that it was very loud when I looked in there.

Every beer and cider is served from the tap, no bottles in sight! Lots of carved wood, great nooks and crannies for small or large groups. Reminds me of traditional Scottish pubs. Tremendous selection of whiskies. Visited 2 nights in a row.

I went to the Local on Sunday night, July 13th of 2008. I found a pubic hair in my salad, I kid you not. After realizing what I was holding in my hand I almost puked and lost my entire appetite. I will never eat there again due to their unsanitary conditions.

This is sad for me because I really liked the Local. I will only drink there now because I still like the ambiance.

Lovely pub in the heart of downtown Minneapolis. The location is perfect to sip a chilled beer as you watch the traffic go by. I visited it with my father & brother on 13 September, 2007. Our waitress was Ginger, a friendly & vivacious lady, who was 'spot on' in her recommendation of food & ale! We had a few Guinness beers and delicious helpings of fish 'n' chips and shepherd's pie. The prices were reasonable, the service good and and the whole place left us with a feeling of 'sunshine.' I recommend it for anyone looking for a good pub in Minneapolis for lunch.
