Went for lunch on a Wednesday. Busy but were seated and greeted by the owner Brenda. Smallish menu of choices but all described well by server. Ample sandwich serving had me taking some home, fresh greens in sandwich. Seating is quite close together. Would like to return when next in Minneapolis.

We had a wonderful lunch here. The restaurant is spacious with lovely ambiance, and while we ate indoors, the outdoor seating looked very pleasant too. Brenda, the owner, was there - and she's apparently a frequent presence at lunchtime. The daily specials we had were perfect. The service was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. The experience has me ready to go back for an evening at the adjacent Guthrie Theater preceded by dinner at Spoonriver and followed by ice cream at nearby Izzie's!

Don't miss Spoonriver! Nestled between the Mill City Museum and the Guthrie Theatre, and right at the Saturday farmers' market, this quickly became the favorite place for our family wedding gathering. Lunch or dinner, everything was so good with fresh, local ingredients, vegetarian items that even the meat-eaters in our group loved, and personable, friendly service.

On my previous trip to Minneapolis I didn't get a chance to stop here and eat so I made sure on my second trip to make it here for one meal. WOW! It took us FOREVER just to decide what we wanted because there were so many delicious sounding options. The food was fresh, local and DELICIOUS! In a really cute neighborhood with a farmers market outside on the day we went. We walked off our breakfast along the river.

AMAZING!

Ate brunch there on Sunday afternoon. No reservations, just hanging out near the river and remembered how much we enjoyed our last visit there so decided to pop in. No available tables, so we sat at the bar. We received wonderful service (at the bar!) and enjoyed a great view of the kitchen which was a lot of fun. Once again, the food was delicious, and left us satisfied and happy without feeling like we overindulged. Left us with tons of energy to continue our day of sightseeing. I highly recommend this for anyone who wants local, organic, lovingly crafted food, with terrific, unpretentious service. Oh, and the location next to the river and Stone Arch Bridge should seal the deal!
