Many unique vendors offering clothes, gifts and food items from around the world. While roughly half of the vendors were Hispanic there were many other countries represented. Great chance to find something unique. Lots of great food to try. It is definitely worth seeing at least once.

We made the mistake of going here to spend an hour or so before meeting friends for dinner. DO NOT DO THAT, you will regret it greatly! :) There are so many wonderful food options, so many interesting stalls, their proprietors hailing from all over the world. Next time we're in the Twin Cities, we will make sure to plan on several meals here!

This is one of the easiest access points to many of Minnesota's new immigrant communities, and the food and gift choices are unmatched anywhere else in the city. The food is plentiful and reasonable--from Holy Land, to La Loma Tamales, to the African curry shop, to the new Thai restaurant and Mexican grocery/deli/restaurant. All restaurants are locally owned and operated. This is only a partial listing of the food, and for the less adventurous there is pizza, and fries, and mac and cheese, too. This is an underutilized asset for the Twin Cities. I am a former Bostonian, and this reminds of what Fanueil Hall was before it become a corporate restaurant mecca. Little known secret...the margaritas at the A La Salsa bar are fantastic, and their little attached restaurant is a winner, too.

We live in a northern suburb of the twin cities, and can easily forget to take advantage of the amazing opportunities the cities have to offer. On a recent "school release day" our family went to the Midtown Global market and had a blast! It's a festival for the eyes, nose and mouth! There were venders selling Thai, African, Vietnamese, latin, mediterranean, seafood, pizza...something for everyone! The best part was having each of us buy from a different "country" and taste each others' food. All of it was delicious.
My boys love getting the candy from Mexico or drinks that they can't find at our local grocery store. My daughter enjoys looking at the colorful clothes and jewelry from Tibet, Africa or Greece. Although you can share food portions as most restaurants give A LOT of food, plan to bring plenty of money because there is just so many interesting things to buy, you may end up spending more than you thought.
There is a small area in the corner of the market for little ones to climb and play once the stimulation is too much (and there are tables so you can eat there) and the bathrooms are large and very clean. Don't forget to bring in your parking ticket from the structure across the street because all the vendors will stamp/validate it for free parking! This is an amazing oasis for us Minnesotans to get in from the cold and experience an international field trip!
**less than 1 mile away, you can expand your field trip at go to 2 more countires: the Somali market/mall on 10th and 24th street OR Mercado Central on Lake and Bloomington Ave. If you want to drive a little further, don't forget United Noodles for an Asian experience as well!

This place was recommended to my husband and myself on our recent trip to Minneapolis/St. Paul. I didn't know what to expect, but I am SO glad we went. It was such a treat! We were able to sample foods from several international vendors as our dinner. All of which was fantastic! And then we were also able to shop for international foods and other goods. There is also a natural market, flower market and farm-to-table type booths as well. Don't miss: the triple chocolate cake at the Salty Tart booth! It's amazing! It was so hard to choose. The entire experience is a treat for the senses! So much going on, so much to see and enjoy! I can say that we will visit this place EVERY time we visit Minneapolis!
