Unlike Lake Harriet and Calhoun, Nokomis has some grass to spread out your towel or throw something around without stepping on someone. It is unfortunate that Cedar Ave was built over part of the lake and that you can wave at people in the jets landing at the airport. But if you tune that out, there is plenty of space to walk, run or ride or just lay around. The facilities are in good shape and the little nature areas are a nice touch.
