“Nokomis for Families”
Reviewed September 8, 2012

The lake chain south of downtown Minneapolis -- Lake of the Isles, Calhoun, and Harriet -- is the place to mingle in the midst of weekend crowds or to walk/run/bike. Nokomis and nearby Hiawatha are better destinations for families.

“Nice location with activities for all”
Reviewed July 25, 2012 via mobile

The walking paths around the lake are wonderful. The two beaches are nice. The larger beach has a playground and restrooms. It is a very convenient location to visit. The lake is home to at least two triathlons each summer and so it is not uncommon to see people training in and around the lake.

“Its just another lake”
Reviewed July 21, 2012

Lake Nokomis is just lake any other lake. There isn't anything very special about it. They have a good play ground for kids and good walking trails around it, but thats about it.

“local resident input”
Reviewed July 8, 2012

I lived 2 blocks away from the lake for about 2 years, and have walked around it on almost a daily basis. The path is well maintained, as well as the beach area. There is a good coffee shop just a block away from the beach area on 51st st., and there is also Fat Lorenzo's on other side of lake at Cedar Ave. Good pizza available by slice and Gelato.
