“Great Location, gross bathrooms”
Review of Target Center

I thought the Target Center was in a great location. The bathrooms could of been kept up a lot better. Pretty disgusting for the amount of money you pay to see a concert.

We had a VIP package for the 1D concert at Target Center (purchased over a year in advance and cost $250.00 - included early entry for the Sound Check, a 1D t-shirt, personal "host" and seats were on the main floor, row 9 seats 15 and 16). We were allowed in at 3:30pm. for the sound check and they were right on time. The line moved quickly and all was in order, e.g. getting our tickets, VIP passes, and meeting with our VIP hosts. The people of Target Center were well prepared and made the lines helpful (water was also given out).

Once inside, the sound check went so smooth, and my daughter even got to answer a question posed by Harry (of 1D). Everything was well controlled and enjoyable. The night progressed as expected according to times for warm up band, and main featured band (1D). Getting out was great... no hassles. This is an easy venue for large concerts! Plus... at 3:30pm. we even got parking on the street just 1/2 block from Target Center! So, think about going early and enjoying any of the many nice dining venues... all within a block. There is also a Starbucks across the street with street seating to do some early people watching.

This was our first time to the Target Center. We paid for our parking ahead of time so we were able to just get in and out easily, with only a 4 block walk. The wait time to get through security was reasonable, considering the size of the place. I think it took us less than 10 minutes from walking through the street doors to getting through security to the booth selling t-shirts.

The show was AWESOME! For being 62 years old, Tom Petty still puts on a really great performance. The Smithereens only played 8 or 10 songs, and my main beef with opening acts nowadays is that there are already cameras and Jumbo screen displays set up, but the opening acts never use them. If I were a big fan of whomever was opening, I would feel let down.

Target Center is home to the NBA Minnesota Timberwolves, WNBA Lynx, concerts, high school sports and ice shows. It's location is great - in the heart of Minneapolis' very walkable entertainment district, yet adjacent to thousands of parking spots.

The center is modern with comfortable seats and great views. Some complain of too few toilets but that hadn't been my experience.

The food is pretty bad no matter if you're there for a concert or a game. Be sure to eat at one of the amazing restaurants downtown before visiting the Target Center.
