On a frigid evening we went here to take a break from being caught up in a slow evening commute. I had seen decent reviews for in past and it didn't disappoint. We were met soon after entering and seated, our server was soon at our table and both individuals were pleasant and friendly. We ordered the fresh guacamole - very good. I love a good mole sauce so I ordered some chicken enchiladas with the mole and it was served with rice and refried beans. My daughter ordered a burrito and loved it and my husband had beef enchiladas with a red sauce. The size of the enchiladas was a bit underwhelming but good. Our entrees were all priced at $8 to $9 so very reasonable. We all agreed it was somewhere to come back to.

Not the best I have ever had, but pretty good. It could have been cleaner and the service could have been better.

We bought a Groupon to try this place. Reviews looked good. Huge mistake. The stench of urine when we walked in should have been our 1st clue. Here is the rundown: Sunday at 3pm, only two other tables in the place occupied. We ordered a Cadillac Margarita and a Rodeo Margarita, waited forever, then watched our Waitress who couldn't have been 15 years old, grab a menu to see what was in each drink and proceed to attempt to make them. . After another 5-7 minutes, we got the drinks, they were HORRIBLE. No tequila detected at all. No one to complain to, no chips and salsa until we were almost done with the drinks and had put in our food order.
Food was just ok, sauces were fresh but portions were small, Chili Reilleno was about 2 inches long and not freshly fried, enchiladas were mediocre. Tostada had a weird cardboard taste. Again, no one to complain to. We got the wrong sauces on our plates, not what we ordered, the Waitress said the cook put the wrong sauce on them by mistake, no offer of making it right.
Not sure if the C Team, maybe even D Team was working on Sunday or if its always like this, terrible. We will not be back, EVER.

We're from a town that has a Taco Johns...and that's it. So authentic Mexican food was an exciting, but also somewhat intimidating experience.

The waitress brought out tortilla chips with three different salsas/sauce. My husband ordered the tacos. He said they were small and perhaps seemed expensive in this sense (about $2.50 a piece), but on the other hand they were not Taco Johns tacos. They were wrapped in soft shell tortillas and used good beef instead of overly seasoned low grade, cheap hamburger meat. I had the tampiquena, which was skirt steak with beans and rice and cheese enchiladas with a mole sauce. The skirt steak was on the tough side yet extremely flavorful. I wasn't sure what to make of the enchiladas with the pool of mole sauce on top, but they were pretty tasty.

I'm only giving this a four because when we had went there was some sort of concert or something going on in the upstairs part of the building. The music was so loud it was hard to hear each other. But other than that it was a good experience. :)

We lived in San Antonio for 30 years and have not been able to find good Mexican food here in the twin cities until we discovered this gem on Lake Street. Excellent fresh salsa's, authentic beans and rice and the chicken verde enchiladas were some of the best! Only drawback, beer is a little pricey at $5/bottle.
