Huge portions, great food, cups/glasses that never go empty..this is the place to go for breakfast or lunch (and I hear they also serv e dinner now). You can eat your face off for about $5-10 per person and I have never had a bad meal here (or one I could manage to FINISH).
It is in a more hidden location (on 9th Street just past Marquette-across from the AT&T Tower) than last location (which was lost due to the Target HQ building in 2005-6).
Service can be slow to hit-or-miss, depending on who you get and how long they have worked there. Not a drinker, but people do seem to like the bar, which they didn't have at the old spot.
Food is the real deal here and Minnesotans love to eat. This is stick-to-your-ribs food for a hearty bunch. If you have a smaller appetite, think about sharing or small plates/apps. Food is really terrific home-cooking.
I had a simple breakfast and the homemade bread and thick-cut bacon made it an occasion: a testament to deliciousness!
