My business colleagues and I had lunch here and both the food and the service were excellent. Perfect portion sizes, balanced flavors, good presentation. I would recommend this to anyone looking for great food in downtown Minneapolis!

Our group of 4 visited Vincent in November of 2012 and had a delightful evening. Our window seat allowed us to watch the pedestrians scurry past holding their coats and jackets closed against the dark cold.

What a difference a few months later, in July, 2013! Now the sidewalks were teeming with people in their light summer clothing, outdoor tables were filled with diners, and sunshine bounced off the tall buildings east of us. And, it was the same time of evening, about 6:00.

The menu had changed also, with the season. Our fantastic beet salad of November was replaced by a Tart Tatin, equally fabulous. It was a riff on French apple tart, but sweet tomatoes took the place of the apples, and delicately dressed greens made sure it was salad-like. Three small lamb chops were just the right size for a meal without over-doing it. The scallop entrée was perfect, but the halibut lacked flavor and the couscous underneath didn't help it. The hit from both visits was the enormous lamb shank, falling apart tender, and in a flavorful sauce. Two sides of the roasted asparagus were just right for the 4 of us. Dessert was less than a hit. The chocolate truffles were fine, but were coated with cocoa and not served on plates. As a result, we dropped powdered cocoa all over the white table cloth. Even knowing that they would strip the table after we left, we were uncomfortable leaving such a mess.

A small but nice touch is that real butter is served with the baguette slices. Too many places have gone to whipped, flavored substitutes.

Service remains at the highest level, as befits a white linen restaurant. The wine list is extensive and has some good choices in the low to mid $30's.

This is a classy place. The tables are far apart to allow for goof conversation. The sound level is subdued. The service is first rate. The food runs between traditional and creative. Just right. The escargots is wonderful, especially with the fantastic baguette. The seared foie gras is wonderfully paired with a smear of rhubard sauce providing a perfect balance of acidity and richness. They also do a happy hour menu of smaller eats and a very good $8 burger. The Alsatian tart is perfect. Wine by the glass is at $4 and beer at $3 during happy hour. It is just a very fine place.

I took a client to Vincent's and the food quality was excellent! We did a wine pairing menu and all the wine selections were great as well. The restaurant does tend to get a bit loud for a business meeting, but the noise helps keep it lively and fun as well. I would definitely take a customer back here.
