“Best, most authentic Cuban restaurant.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 13, 2012

Owned by an actual Cuban, this restaurant has no pretense: it's small and crowded, which only adds to the charm. Every single food item is incredible, you can write on the walls, and its all AUTHENTIC!!!

“Unexpectedly great!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 20, 2012 via mobile

We heard if this place from Diners, Drive Ins and Dives. We got here fairly early an a Friday night, about 6. We were lucky to have gotten their last table. They take reservations so you may want to have them on the weekend. Our server was very cheery and helpful. We had an appetizer sampler and both the empanadas and fritters were great, the plantains were a bit bland. We shared a great pork entree. A great place for a casual and unique meal!

“Skip Al's Breakfast and come here”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 19, 2012

This is one of the best breakfast places in Minneapolis and they have both American-style and Cuban-inspired dishes. The prices are very reasonable and the atmosphere is great. It's a little crowded though, so I wouldn't go with more than 3-4 people. Also, as with most breakfast places, go early if you don't want to wait for a table.

“A little gem of a cafe”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 6, 2012

We were taken here by family - we are from out of town and were very impressed by the character of the cafe, the friendliness of the staff and the tastiness of the food. We had not had Cuban food before but love good Mexican. The flavors were fresh and interesting with good serving sizes. We had never had fritas before - loved them. Would definately return when we are again in Minneapolis. Only thing to watch out for is the cosy cafe has a hard time catering for groups over 4! Great spot.

“Snotty server”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 6, 2012

The decor is cute and fun. Some of the dishes were better than others. I didn't care for the ham croquetas at all (very mushy texture) and my Lechon Asada was on the dry side. The yuca frita and rice were pretty good. All of this would have earned the restaurant 4 stars if it wasn't for the snotty service. We called the same day to make a reservation and were told they couldn't accommodate us at 6:30. Fine, we can come at 6. When we left at 6:45 there were only 2 other tables there. OK, maybe there were several 7 pm reservations. The server was not friendly and was bordering on outright rude. The food wasn't outstanding enough to make up for subpar service.
