Description: Since 1994 Broders' Pasta Bar has been serving house made and quality imported pastas and risottos, focusing both on Italian regional traditions as well as seasonal & local ingredients. We source from Midwest farms, when possible, and grow vegetables in our own parking lot garden (weather permitting, of course!) but really, it's about the pasta. Located across W. 50th Street from Broders’ Cucina Italiana, the original deli and specialty food shop, Molly and Tom Broder opened the Pasta Bar - to cook the pasta they were selling the way it was meant to be: fresh, al dente, perfectly sauced and thoughtfully executed. Still, and always, family owned and operated, Broders' continually strives to serve great Italian food and wine from our corner in Southwest Minneapolis. We hope to welcome you, whether at the Cucina, Pasta Bar, or the newest addition, Terzo, our contemporary Italian restaurant & wine bar. Saluti!

Broders is always a great meal. Nothing on the menu is bad and they are constantly switching it up. The pasta is amazing and their seasonal menu items are always something special. Make sure to go early or there will be a long wait, it's totally worth it.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. Our meals were fantastic! Well worth the wait, and well worth going out of your way for.

This is one of those restaurants which I would believe most of us hardly ever go to unless we are feeling financially flush or we need a real pasta fix. Let's start out with some negatives... First off, you have to be lucky and/or determined to get in, because you undoubtedly will have to wait a long time... I'm talking 30-90 minutes... and on most days you aren't going to fit inside the place while you are waiting so think about that when inclement weather is present. Secondly, the prices can be off-putting... especially when you receive your glass of wine or bowl of pasta and see how little you are getting. Thirdly, you are going to be packed in tightly while you eat (the fact that they still have a coat check at the tiny bar booth is an indication as to how much space you will have when you are sitting). And lastly, the service is generally alright but you probably won't get much attention, and pretty much everyone who works there has a look on their face which makes you feel like you showed up 1 minute before closing time. OK, so much for the downsides... as I started out saying, if you need a "real" pasta fix, this is still the place to go. By that I mean fresh ingredients, home-made pastas cooked perfectly, sauces which will haunt you, meatballs that will make you cry, and an unfailingly honest Caesar salad. Oh, and the large salads definitely feed 2-4 people depending how much salad you want with your pasta. They have an ever-changing menu, along with seasonal specialties. Plus you simply cannot create pasta dishes at home that have similar delicacies contained within nor the interminglings of flavors. And I also suppose it is hard to find many restaurants in the cities here that provide pasta dishes at the level this place does... but that being said, if you are looking for simple spaghetti and meatballs that fill you up and satisfy you as comfort food does, this is probably not the place to go. Then again, if you want to feel like an addict for days after you leave, worried you might be addicted to pasta, then by all means join the throngs of similarly-affected people and make sure at one member of your party tries one of the day's specials (or maybe just order it for the table, if you have the extra cash, since it may not be enough for you once everyone tastes it).

on a Wednesday night, the wait was 90 mins for this tiny little gem. We didn't really seem to mind, as we grabbed a glass of great wine and sat outside, enjoying the evening. Once inside, we were seated at the bar -- right in plain view of the kitchen, where we got to watch the magic happening as meal after meal was created. We started with simple fare of olives and fresh bread, which were spectacular. The specials and the regular menu make selecting a main course difficult because I wanted one of everything! I chose a fantastic pasta dish with steak and asparagus with a garlic wine sauce, which was over the top amazing. I know some people may be put off by the wait and the crowd, but in the end, this little gem is well worth it. Loved it!

The stuffed fried olives were little bits of salty heaven--and the pasta was one of the best dishes I have ever had.
