Very good burgers and cheese curds...this place is very hip and now and is low key in the interiors and lets the burgers shine. There are no options for alcohol outside of beer and cider, but if you are in the mood for a delicious quick burger, this is the place. If you get the burger with the soft boiled egg on top, the cook will come out and assist in the final construction of the burger at your table...thought that was a great way to be served!

Ate here last night after a high school football game. Love the selection of interesting burgers and the great wait staff. The best burger for me is the goat cheese and honey. Sweetly delicious. Beer battered green beans are a winner too. The price is right but there's usually a wait. Love this neighborhood place. It's a wee bit on the loud side but that's ok on occasion.

The decor is creative and inviting. It's a bit hard to hear when the music is turned up. I would recommend that they use surround sound technology and keep music as background music. After all going out is a social experience and hearing what others say is important. The variations for hamburgers were overwhelming. My basic hamburger was good. Loved the sweet pickles. Taste homemade. Its a good value when a beer, burger and Tator tots are $10. I will return again.

I was ecstatic when I heard The Blue Door was moving into the Longfellow neighborhood! The St. Paul location is always so packed full. This location is still very busy but you at least stand a chance at getting a seat within an hour. The burgers are SOOO good and totally worth the wait! Always hot and full of flavor! The cheese curds are fresh and crisp, not gross and soggy as other places have had.

We made our first trek to the Blue Door on our quest to sample all the juicy Lucys in the Twin Cities. It was a success! We rank this our favorite so far - better than 5-8 - but have yet to get to Matt's Bar.

The BD is set in the middle of a neighborhood, and friends have told us that the locals are cranky and yell at people who loiter outside whilst waiting for a table. We got there about 5:15 on Labor Day, narrowly beating the rush. Even so, we had a 5-minute wait for a table, as the place is fairly intimate. This gave us time to order from the excellent local-centric tap selection. As other reviewers have noted, the ambient noise level is fairly high, so intimate conversation is not feasible. We were seated picnic-style at a long bench table in the middle of the restaurant, but had plenty of room.

Our server Amiejean was personable, friendly, and prompt, and we got our drinks, appetizers, and food in short order. The cheese curds were very well done.

The "Door" is known for burgers cooked with cheese in the middle, known locally as a "juicy Lucy." We had four different burgers between us: the signature Blucy (filled with bleu cheese), the Classic A (American cheese), the Bacon-loaded, and the Pastramilicious (pepper-jack cheese in the middle with pastrami piled on top). All were excellent! I sampled both the Blucy and the Pastramalicious, and *really* liked the burger-pastrami combo. Mine was ordered "cowboy" style, which means it came with BBQ sauce, extra cheese, and a giant onion ring on top and bottom of the burger. It makes the burger about 14 inches high, but was a great addition!

You can choose from several sides; several of us had fries, which are better than your average tavern fries. We didn't sample the tater tots, but I had the beer-batter fried green beans, which were yummy, especially dipped in ranch sauce.

We had a great experience at BD, and will be back! Prices are very reasonable, the atmosphere is fun, and the food was great!
