“A Poem From The Past”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

In the summer this is a attraction unlike anywhere in the USA. On the shores of Gitche Gumee. The Song of Hiawatha is here on Hiawatha Falls. Shortly before the falls there is statue of Hiawatha caring his lady across the stream before the falls. There is a great park with a lot of picnic areas. Not to be missed if you have the time

“A nostalgic nature lover's place drop in for an hour or an afternoon”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

A 3 minutes downhill walk from the parking lot gets you to where the waterfall tumbles. Find the nearby steps and descend to the "canyon" bottom. Continue the path downstream for about 15 more minutes and you will eventually find an intimate view of the mighty ol' Mississippi.

Go to it. Beautiful. It has lots of trails some require stairs and hills. Lots of people and a good restaurant on site too. Sea Salt is the name.

“Just fun to say Minnehaha.....and a great park to visit”
Reviewed November 18, 2013

While our visit to the Bloomington area, we took the Metro to the Minnehaha Park. It is a beautiful park, kinda in the middle of town. We walked through the park to the waterfall which was awesome. Not where you would expect to see such a great waterfall. There were alot of steps to get down to and back up from the waterfall...but worth the climb as the waterfall was beautiful. Even though it was early October, there was a chill in the air and a the leaves had color. While in the park we heard some bluegrass music and walked towards it only to happen on to a 26K marathon that was in progress. It was fun to watch the runners for a while and cheer them on. There was an enclosed snack shop where you could get a cup of coffee and a lite snack.

“Great Hiking+ Best Waterfalls in the city”
Reviewed November 7, 2013

Depending on how much it's rained lately is how well the waterfalls will be falling when you get there. The minnehaha falls are probably the most photographed attraction in the twin cities. And rightfully so, they are beautiful. The hiking trails are endless in this area, there is no limit to how much hiking you can do down here. It's worth walking along the creek to where it enters the mississippi about a mile down. From there you get a good view of the Ford dam and the river. There are some nice little caves along the trail for some photo opportunities.
