“A little bit of kitsch and a lot of fun”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

We took a warm afternoon visit to Minnehaha Park and falls. Wandered among the trees for a while, watched the locals swim at a swimming hole, explored the geology of the place through the signs. All in all, a good, low key time.

“A mini Niagara Falls for the local fun seekers”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

The Falls in the park is fun to see when the water's flowing with gusto because of any recent downpours. Kids tend to like looking at the water roaring over the higher ground edge. The lay out is nicely designed and fairly easy to walk around. However, for a family fun filled activity, rent the two or four passenger bikes to pedal around the area. The kids love it and laugh when the incline makes it harder to pedal. It's just simple fun at its best. If you get a chance to eat at the in-park restaurant, do it. Part of making the experience even more memorable and fun.
I had forgotten how nice it is here.

“Minnehaha Park is a hidden treasure”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

Minnehaha Park is a hidden treasure in the Twin Cities area. Since we live in the area, we have visited it at least once a summer for 15 years and we still haven't explored everything. Here is a list: you can hike along Minnehaha Creek and see it run into the MIssissippi River where you can fish or wade (some swim), the awesome Minnehaha Falls, swim in the Creek below the Falls, bike the paths with your own bike or rent a variety of surreys and other wheeled things, eat at the Sea Salt restaurant or get ice cream, picnic in the park or in the pavilion, play on the old playground equipment by the pavilion or in the newer park in the north picnic grounds, view lock and dam #1 from the north picnic grounds, visit the historical homes, statues, and markers throughout the park, go strolling, sit and look at the fountains and gardens, attend a wedding at the west end of the grounds on top of the tunnel (it's so well done you don't realize there is traffic going underneath you), cross the street and have a meal at the DQ. Parking is plentiful but costs like a parking meter. Bring quarters. The new light rail line runs just across the highway from the park and you can get to the park that way. This park is so great I am surprised when I find people who live in Minnesota who haven't been here. I think it is a "must do" for residents. The path to Fort Snelling State Park is at the south entrance to Minnehaha Park and that is another free adventure!

“beautiful retreat”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

While visiting with family near Mall of America, we decided to take a few hours and check out Minnehaha Park. We were amazed at the beauty this retreat offered. A waterfalls (great for pictures) and trail that followed the creek were awesome. There was a pooling area where the Grandkids could take their shoes off and wade into the water for enjoyment.

There's also the Sea Salt restaurant there for a quick lunch. Bicycle rentals are available as well. It was a great few hours of quality family time away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

“A Minneapolis must”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

Minnehaha Falls is a Minneapolis Icon found in the heart of the cities. Went there on a hot humid day and it was so refreshing and relaxing you forgot your day and could enjoy the ambiance. For those who don't want to relax, there are fun tandem bikes, hiking trails to use.
