“Nice Place to visit by the River”
Reviewed April 3, 2012

The falls are great to look at and are close by to the Guthrie and Mill City ruins. The area brings alot of people to it to walk and look at the falls. It is an easy trip in the city - between downtown and Northeast Minneapolis.

“Several times over 30 years.”
Reviewed April 2, 2012

Nice clean river, practical use of falls, and good looking view. Not bad for an inner city location AND one with a practical purpose...

“Something to see while doing something else”
Reviewed March 11, 2012

This is a cement dam which covers the rocks of what was a cascade of rocks in the Mississippi river over which the water ran and fell a ways. It is still dramatic and can best be viewed as you take a wonderful stroll upon The Stone Arch Bridge crossing the river just down stream from the falls. You get an excellent view of the falls and you get a good work out with a wonderful walk with many other people walking, jogging or just exercising while having some free time from their down town jobs located a couple block away in the Minneapolis down town. The view of the falls is also seen from inside the Guthrie Theater. You don't need to buy a ticket to a play, you can just walk into the theater and go to the outdoor thrust balcony and view the falls. It is dramatic view and worth seeing from either venue.

Nearby bars and restaurants on either side of the river. Very peaceful place to walk around - summer or winter.
