This museum takes you up an old mill elevator, and tells you about the milling industry in Minneapolis. It is quite interesting, and shows interviews from people who actually worked there. In addition, there is a short movie starring Kevin Kling called Minneapolis In 19 Minutes Flat where he gives a brief history in Minneapolis in a humorous manner.

I may live here, but I love visiting the Mill City Museum. It is great for all ages and gives a very interesting view of Minneapolis' early beginnings. After the tour take a walk across the Stone Arch Bridge and enjoy a restaurant across the river. You may consider a historical tour on a Segway or walk around Nicollet Island and view historical homes. Lots of fun!

This is a fantastic educationally directed museum. And it's located at the only waterfall on the Mississippi river. Now we know why the millers zeroed in on this place. Superbly well thought out and constructed. The use of interactive displays, a range of multimedia presentations, a live demonstration of the explosive nature of flour, knowledgeable and very helpful staff, and, would you believe, an on-site operational bakery, all combine to make the price of admission an incredible value.

The Mill City Museum is not to be missed. It offers great appeal to all ages. It chronicles the history of flour milling and how it helped shape Minneapolis in becoming the milling center of the world. The inventive flour tower tour is fun, informative...and explosive!

Nice museum with a great view of the Mississippi River. The 20 minute movie they play gives a nice history of the area. Great for first time visitors. Helps to appreciate the city more.
