“Roses galore!”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

There are larger rose gardens in the U.S. but this is a fine place to casually observe the beauty of many fine roses. Combine it with a Lake Harriet outing (across the parkway) for exercise or for concert-going. Stop and smell the roses!

“Very small, not what I was expecting”
Reviewed July 28, 2013

This rose garden (billed as one of the largest???) is very, very small, and many of the little beds were quite new, so they weren't large plants, etc. We were there in June, yet I was unimpressed. The scenery was nice, but not really worth the drive over there, we thought.

“Uplifting”
Reviewed July 21, 2013

I visited the rose garden in July, and some of the flowers were past their prime. But it is still magnificent, with blossoms of all different colors and shades to look at and smell (one must do that in a rose garden, mustn't one?). Some of my favorites were named after food- very bright colors, pretty combinations. You should also check out the rock garden across the street. Much more natural surroundings, pretty combinations and interesting trees. There is food available further down the lake, as well as indoor bathrooms with plumbing (the toilets nearest the rose garden are non-flushing type). It does cost a little bit to park there, but only 1 or 2 dollars. Well worth it!

“Enchanting”
Reviewed June 4, 2013

Amongst the face paced area of Minneapolis's uptown hip area, near the chain of lakes, sits this enchanting rose garden. During the summer it is a nice place to take a walk and enjoy the smells and views.
