“We'll Be Back (with our own jam)”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 16, 2013

What's not to like? Nice modern atmosphere. Comfortable booths. Great service. And most importantly, a diverse menu, excellent ingredients and amazing preparation. The only disappointment was the cheap, commercially produced jam. At a place this great where nothing else seems to have been missed, I would have expected some really great local or gourmet jams. But don't let that stop you from going, it really is an amazing spot. Just bring your own jam if you are a picky SOB like me.

“Best breakfast”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 9, 2013

We went for breakfast on a Friday morning. Hubby is a breakfast aficionado and said it was the best he has ever had. I enjoyed mine as well. Service was excellent. When we were leaving and asked where the restrooms were they didn't just point down the hall but rather walked us there. Nice touch.

“Saturday Evening”

Only a 10 minute wait and excellent service! The food was also great, especially the sweet potato fries! Such a nice laid back atmosphere in cute uptown!

“Very busy but worth the wait”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 2, 2013

Our family of 5 visited at noon on Saturday. It was very busy and we had to wait 30 minutes to be seated (they told us 30 to 40 min.), but it was worth the wait. Every one of us loved our meals. I had the chilaquiles and it was better than I've had in Mexico! Other dishes we loved were the biscuits & gravy and the breakfast burrito. We'll be back!

“Layover Lunch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 29, 2013

My wife and I were laid over at MSP. Since our son lived in town, he and his friend met us at the airport and took us to The Lowery.

What a jewel! We ordered deviled eggs and French-fried sweet potatoes for starters. What is there not to love about deviled eggs? These are great with a dollop of relish and bacon bits -- bacon!

For the meal I had the fish and chips and she had the oyster peacemaker -- which we immediately took to calling the pacemaker. Both really delicious. The fish was tender and perfectly cooked, the slaw delicious, with raisins. She really enjoyed the poboy with lots of slaw and great fries.

Since we were spending time with the son, the staff were very accomodating and gave us time to visit. I will definitely want to revisit The Lowery the next time I'm in town.
