My wife and I recently stayed at the Hyatt. While downtown we did visit the W hotel. We peaked in the Foshay Museum. I wish this is the hotel we would have booked. The service was amazing, The bar was hopping and Manny's is attached. I think there is a reason that Manny's moved from the Hyatt. I plan on doing the same my next visit.

The hotel where we were staying was just a couple blocks away. We enjoy a little history with any trip we take. This was a nice slice of Minneapolis history. From street level, you will walk through the main level of the hotel to purchase your ticket to the museum. It is fun to see the decorating within the building and preserved details such as the elevator doors. The museum doesn't take long, but do take time to listen to a few short videos available. You can control which ones you will listen, or if any. The video about renovating the building will have you appreciating the attention given during its renovation. We were there on a warmer clear day and you can see quite far from the observation deck.

This hotel is very nicely located in the heart of Mpls. Walking distance to the shopping and Metrodome. We stayed in a corner room and it was very nice and roomy with a great view. Don't miss having a drink on the 27th floor at Prohibition Bar. The bar on the main level was a great place to end the evening and the DJ was awesome.

The viewing terrace and the little museum are cool. It is not the tallest point but you can still get your bearings on the city and, if you go at sunset, you can take good sunset pix reflected on the buildings.

We love the FOSHAY! It's the Minneapolis version of The Empire State building in NYC, smaller of course, more accessible, quiet and romantic. The building was completely restored around the 2006-2007 and converted to a hotel. And the tiny observation deck and museum reminds me of a small town museum where you really get the flavor of the town. From the moment you step into the lobby of the W hotel, or the entrance to Key's Cafe, you're wrapped in classic art deco supreme. Go to Prohibition, the tre-chic bar on the 27th floor. Arrive before 5:15 so you'll have your choice of tables, views and happy hour drinks until 7 - a very generous experience! Forsure go to the Foshay!
