First of all the entire staff is awesome. We dealt with at least 8 staff members who couldn't have been nicer. Got a room package with valet parking included ($32). Wine reception in the lobby from 5-6 pm had nice wines. Attached use of Life Time fitness center was great. Lap pool. We got a king room for $89 on their website with free parking! Room was beautiful, great bathroom with separate tub and shower. Double vanity, separate toilet area. Tub has tv in the wall. Attached bar area was terrific off the lobby. Our stay couldn't have been more impressive. On the skyway system in a great location.

The heating/cooling is bad. My room had electric baseboard heaters that clicked every 3 seconds, were always on. The room temp went to 77 degrees when the fan was off. Fan off because it was so loud it kept me awake. To cool you had to run the fan, must be air conditioning, blowing right on you. So I did not get a decent nites sleep eiher

I was on the 8th floor, Saturday nite there was a wedding on 6th floor, the pounding of the music kept me up till 2am.

No coffee makers in room or ice machines in hotel.

We recently went through an extensive renovation of our HVAC systems, so to hear that you had a hard time with the heating in your room is disappointing to us as well, and it's something we're looking into. My husband and I have stayed at the Grand a handful of times to celebrate our wedding anniversaries. This year was our fifth and the Grand did not disappoint! We stayed in a Premier King room on the 12th floor with a wonderful view of downtown Minneapolis and much to our surprise when we entered our room there was a complimentary bottle of Champagne and chocolate covered roses on the bed!! Very thoughtful, thank you Grand Hotel! Everything about the Grand is, well just that, Grand. The beds are very comfortable, the bathroom HUGE! The soaking tub a perfect place to relax. The service was great, everything was very clean and well kept, the employees were friendly, I love the wine hour and the lobby is beautiful. You honestly cannot find a better hotel in Minneapolis. 1 thing to be aware of, if you don't want to get up and go down to lobby for coffee make sure to request coffee in your room. and just an FYI if you don't mind walking a block and a half, i suggest finding a parking garage rather than valet parking....we found a garage for $5/night whereas valet will cost you about $30/night (which is very typical of all hotels in the city, so it doesn't take anything away from the hotel itself, in fact we have used the Grand's valet services in the past and they were wonderful). All in all, The Grand Hotel is a wonderful place to stay, i highly recommend it. Once you go Grand you'll never go back!!

We liked this hotel very much. Big room, big bathrooms, nice interiors, etc. But the only parking offered is valey, and the self-park is an older garage across the street, which makes for cold retrieval in the winter. A hotel with on-site parking would be preferred. Also, no coffee makers in the rooms themselves, but free coffee in the lobby. It's a pain to have to go downstairs first thing in the morning without coffee. And finally, no pay-per-view movies, which a lot of hotels seem to be doing away with. There was an HBO channel, which is better than most places, for sometimes you want to watch something without commercials.

Room Tip: All rooms seemed large.

I stayed at The Grand when I had an unexpected trip to downtown Minneapolis. I booked the special with the valet parking and it was awesome. All the employees were very friendly and helpful and it was nice to text the valet to bring the car in the morning. I would definitely stay again!
