Stop by to see this institute housed in a gorgeous mansion. Currently there is an interesting and informative exhibit on the Sami people.

I went here with my girls ages 2 and 5. We ate at the new restaurant which was fabulous. They don't have kids meals so you can order a side of meatballs/potatoes and that worked well. I loved the fresh and innovative food offerings. Going into the museum it is newly restored and the top floor is set up for the children with a few things to do and a Dale horse to ride. They really enjoyed that and playing with the kitchen set. The movie about the Sami people was fascinating. A great place to take visitors.

This house is well worth the time for a tour. Every room in the institute has carefully carved cherubs adorning the corners of every area. Some rooms have cherubs with bird wings others with bat wings and still others with dragonfly wings.

I had a great time at the Amercan Swedish Institute. The addition is beautiful, the exhibits are interesting and informative, & the food is amazing! My husband surprised me with any early holiday gift membership!

This museum is always better than I expect. It is actually a old mansion from the guided age. The furnishings and the Swedish stoves are amazing. I'm many ways more beautiful than the more well known J. J. Hill or Ramsey mansions. Winter has beautiful Christmas decor, summer has grounds. A must see.
